  3. Thanks for the update Dirtfarm, from what you initially describe I can assume that the infection was designed to steal passwords. From that point of view you should change all passwords used on your system, specifically any with financial implications. Other than that you should be good to go... To clean up do the following: Uninstall the following program: Sophos AV http://www.askvg.com/how-to-completely-uninstall-remove-a-software-program-in-windows-without-using-3rd-party-software/ Next, Right click on FRST here: C:\Users\Dr Pepper M D\Desktop\FRST64.exe and rename uninstall.exe when complete right click on uninstall.exe and select "Run as Administrator" If you do not see the .exe appended that is because file extensions are hidden, in that case just rename FRST64 to uninstall That action will remove FRST and all created files and folders... Next, Remove all System Restore Points: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/33593-delete-system-restore-points-windows-10-a.html#option2 Create clean fresh Restore Point: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/create-system-restore-point Run Windows Disk Clean Up Utility - https://neosmart.net/wiki/disk-cleanup/ From there you should be good to go... 4. Hello again Worrier, Run this scan and post its findings please.. Download "Microsoft's Safety Scanner" and save direct to the desktop Ensure to get the correct version for your system.... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/intelligence/safety-scanner-download Right click on the Tool, select “Run as Administrator” the tool will expand to the options Window In the "Scan Type" window, select Quick Scan Perform a scan and Click Finish when the scan is done. Retrieve the MSRT log as follows, and post it in your next reply: 1) Select the Windows key and R key together to open the "Run" function 2) Type or Copy/Paste the following command to the "Run Line" and Press Enter: notepad c:\windows\debug\mrt.log The log will include log details for each time MSRT has run, we only need the most recent log by date and time.... Thank you, Kevin..
  5. Hello Dirtfarm, I do not see anything in your FRST logs to cause concern, hence I ask about your system. Lets run one more scan just to be sure we have covered all bases.. Download Sophos Free Virus Removal Tool and save it to your desktop. If your security alerts to this scan either accept the alert or turn off your security to allow Sophos to run and complete..... Please Do Not use your PC whilst the scan is in progress.... This scan is very thorough so may take several hours... Double click the icon and select Run Click Next Select I accept the terms in this license agreement, then click Next twice Click Install Click Finish to launch the program Once the virus database has been updated click Start Scanning If any threats are found click Details, then View log file... (bottom left hand corner) Copy and paste the results in your reply Close the Notepad document, close the Threat Details screen, then click Start cleanup Click Exit to close the program If no threats were found please confirm that result.... The Virus Removal Tool scans the following areas of your computer: Memory, including system memory on 32-bit (x86) versions of Windows The Windows registry All local hard drives, fixed and removable Mapped network drives are not scanned. Note: If threats are found in the computer memory, the scan stops. This is because further scanning could enable the threat to spread. You will be asked to click Start Cleanup to remove the threats before continuing the scan. Thanks, Kevin..
  6. You`re logs look OK, how is your system responding, any remaining issues or concerns..?
  7. Hello again Antr, I can close and lock the thread and move it. If you want logs removed etc you would have to contact an Administrator. I can only apologize for not giving the answers that you want. The only option is to contact customer service and submit a ticket... Right click on FRST here: C:\Users\Arc\Downloads\FRST64.exe and rename uninstall.exe when complete right click on uninstall.exe and select "Run as Administrator" If you do not see the .exe appended that is because file extensions are hidden, in that case just rename FRST64 to uninstall That action will remove FRST and all created files and folders... Thank you, Kevin...
  8. Hello again Antr, I`ve spoken to one of the Admin guys, mail.ru is not a fp, it is clased as a "PUP" Potentially unwanted Program because of its history. If you want mail.ru on your system it can be added as an exclusion to Malwarebytes https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038479234-Add-to-the-Allow-List-in-Malwarebytes-for-Windows-v4. Thats all I can tell you. If you want to take it further you can raise a ticket for a more informative explanation.. https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Thank you, Kevin..
  9. FRST does not create fix lists, I do that after I analyse the logs. There are hundreds of logs listed every day, they are really meaningless regarding gaining useful information to use against the poster. If there was any possibility of data being used by another 3rd party then no forum would ever use FRST as a primary scanning tool. If you change the name of the exe from FRST.exe to FRSTEnglish.exe the logs will be in English..
  10. If that list is classed as a default list then simply remove what you do not want after you install Google Chrome.... https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95426?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en-GB I doubt very much that mail.ru is a false positive, but I will ask one of the admin guys for clarification...
  11. Yes that is possible, FRST is very safe and used many times every day here at Malwarebytes and several other forums. Allow it to run and post the produced logs, if you feel uncomfortable using FRST I cannot force you...
  12. If you are ok with mail.ru on your system are we ok to close out your thread...? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail.Ru Thanks...

  16. Hello Antr and welcome to Malwarebytes, What do you mean by this (Malwarebytes keeps going broke) do you mean Malwarebytes is not working correctly.? Thank you, Kevin
  17. Thanks for those logs Worrier, continue: Download attached fixlist.txt file (end of reply) and save it to the Desktop, or the folder you saved FRST into. "Do not open that file when running FRST fix" NOTE. It's important that both FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. Open FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait. The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) or the folder it was ran from. Please post it to your reply. Next, Run FRST one more time, ensure all boxes are checkmarked under "Whitelist" but only Addition.txt under "Optional scan" Select scan, when done post the new logs. "FRST.txt" and "Addition.txt" fixlist.txt
  18. You can copy/paste a new download folder from Default folder to your username folder, it should be accessible but will be new and therefore empty.. Is that what you want, if the normal one is corrupt I doubt you would ever get the data back... There is another error in your logs that i`m trying to find information on, not having much luck but not sure why it is being blocked... Do this please: Run FRST one more time: Type the following in the edit box after "Search:". scrobj.dll Click Search Files button and post the log (Search.txt) it makes to your reply.
  19. At least that setting is correct. Is there any data in the downloads folder that you need..?
  20. From your keyboard select Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog, type or copy/paste Services.msc and press ENTER Scroll down the services window to Windows Modules Installer What is the "Startup type"
  21. What is wrong with your downloads folder...?
  22. Hello Worrier, Run the following from an elevated command prompt, let me know the findings: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Thanks, Kevin...
  23. Hello Worrier and welcome to Malwarebytes, Have you tried to run CHKDSK /r command..? I can see it listed in your FRST logs: BootExecute: autocheck autochk /r \??\C:autocheck autochk * Also there are several errors listed similar to the following: Error: (05/06/2020 08:25:08 PM) (Source: Ntfs) (EventID: 55) (User: NT AUTHORITY) Description: A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume C:. Have you tried chkdsk and it failed to run at boot..? Thanks, Kevin..
