  1. not sure if they have a patch for version 1.46. This patch may have been included in version 1.46 but since I am not on the development team, I can't say for sure. Let us wait until one of the developers stops by and checks this thread. sorry I could not be of further help.
  2. Great News indeed, installed on two computers so far, no issues, one is XPSP3 and the other is Win7 64bit.
  3. Try sending an email to corporate-support@malwarebytes.org. Thanks You
  4. We are glad Malwarebytes has helped you eradicate this malicious software. If your current security solution let this infection through, you might please consider purchasing the FULL version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for additional protection.
  5. Well hold on a second.... Just because that tool is not installed on your computer, it does not necessarily mean your copy of windows in not legit. It just means it has not been installed. I for one would want to know if my copy of windows is legit and fully updated so I would install the tool and the updates, but that is up to you. If I paid for my computer, I expect to get what I paid for and that would mean a legit copy of windows too. Does your computer have a sticker that contains a COA (Certificate of Authentication) with a CD Key on it? If you want to update your windows to Service Pack 3 you can download the file from MICROSOFT HERE. During the install of this update, it will check to see if your copy is legit. Also you can install the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) by going to WINDOWS UPDATES. To get more information on what this tool does go to Microsoft's web site and read about it Description of Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) IMPORTANT: By installing these, it will verify that you windows is legit or not. If it turns out you copy is not legit, you will have to call Microsoft for help getting it legit. They will ask you a series of questions like where you bought your computer, etc....
  6. Click on My Controls located on the top right (kind of center) of the page. Then on the left hand pane, look under Subscriptions and review what you are subscribed to by clicking on the View Topics and View Forums. You can then unsubscribe there.
  7. I am not sure I understand what you meant by that, in that tutorial, I don't see it mention its available for the free version? The screen shots I see are for the paid version, as in the screen shot shows that the Protection module is enabled (that setting would not be available in the free version.
  8. Go to Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs, then look through the list and scroll down to the bottom and look for a program called Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130). If it is present in the list, and you have not been getting messages from your computer telling you that your copy of windows in not legit, then your copy of windows passed validation and is legit. You would not have any problems installing SP3. As for your update to IE8 failing, it could have been other issues that caused it to fail, you could always try again after installing SP3. Malwarebytes Quick Scan should be all you need to run, as it detects most if not all malware that gets installed in the most common areas. It does not hurt to run a full scan from time to time, it just takes longer to do a full scan.
  9. There is an Update Tab in the free version, However, automatic scheduling of updates is only available in the Pro (paid) version.
  10. What version of MBAM are you using? If you are using version 1.45 have you tried the patch LOCATED HERE!
  11. We are glad you like the program Malwarebytes.... although just for clarification, MBAM is NOT an anti-virus program, it is an antimalware program designed to work hand in hand with your anti-virus program to catch what your AV misses.
  12. Hello landr, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Sounds like you still have remnants of the infection left behind..... Have the experts have a look at it..... Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org If you are a corporate customer please send an email to corporate-support@malwarebytes.org. (NOTE: An order number is required for corporate support.) Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  13. There are millions of people in the world and not everyone can be satisfied equally. You have a choice of what products you use, and as stated above you have a choice to get your money back if unsatisfied. Your answers were answered, you just did not provide all the options. Q1 -- Its really the same just different wording.... So option C -- > All of the above..... Q2 -- Terminate program when scan completes successfully (means when it scans, and completes successfully, without finding any infections, it will close the program when done scanning, the protection module stays running at all times unless you turn it off yourself) its basic wording --- self explanatory.... Sometimes (including myself) we tend to read into things and make things harder than they are.... Oh by the way that video is old (dated Dec 2008), they are using Malwarebytes version 1.31. Malwarebytes is now on version 1.45 and is a much better program than what is was back then. It has been improved, and will continue to improve to stay ahead of malware writers. No one product is 100% accurate, nor does MBAM claim to be.
  14. Microsoft can help you get your copy of windows to be legit, and at the same time you can turn in the person that is selling illegal copies of windows for profit.
  15. you must have clicked on a sponsored link instead of actually downloading Malwarebytes AntiMalware Download it from CNET again FROM HERE Then click on the Download Now (5.46) link and the next page that comes up make sure you do not click on any sponsored linkes...... if that does not start the download then you will have to click on the line that says: Your download will begin in a moment. If it doesn't, click here to try again. (of course on the CNET page).
  16. You can not delete it, and you can only edit it once you have reached a post count of 50 or more.....
  17. You would have to use a program like CurrPorts to find out what application is doing it, do you use P2P software? 18. 1. To be honest, no one said anything about formatting your PC..... with many software's, a simple re-install solves most problems.... sometimes files get corrupted, or something changes a dll and the program stops responding the way its suppose to, so doing a clean install of Malwarebytes (and only Malwarebytes) could solve the issue. 2. I really do not have that feature turned on as my computer stays on 24/7 so I do not miss my updates or scans. I know this does not help you, but I asked so when a developer comes by and reads this thread, you can get a better answer with the information provided. 3. You are correct, its not you, there is currently no way of editing a scheduled task. You would have to delete/remove the task and create a new one. Maybe in a future update of MBAM they will fix that.
  19. No need to get testy when someone is only trying to help.... Is your computer actually off? on Hybernate? Suspended?
  20. Corp Ed of norton does not have this ad on pack..... what version of Norton Corp are you using? Symantec Endpoint Protection latest version does not have this issue with Malwarebytes....

  22. If you do not have the error any longer, I probably would not worry about it now, but I would worry about replacing that expired Anti-Virus software. Microsoft Security Essentials (free for home use) The official support forum for this product can be found here MSE Downloads: MSE for XP 32 bit MSE for Vista and Windows 7 32 bit MSE for Vista and Windows 7 64 bit Definitions Installers: Note: if installing the definitions in Windows Vista or Windows 7 you MUST right click the definitions installer and select Run as administrator and click Continue at the User Account Control prompt. 32 bit Definitions Installer 64 bit Definitions Installer Also note that if using the paid version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware with your antivirus in realtime that it is generally a good idea to exclude Malwarebytes' files from your antivirus to avoid conflicts. The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products.
