  1. Sometimes (like a few minutes ago), my computer woke up from sleep,

I open Malwarebytes, go in the about tab and check for updates.

Malwarebytes find´s an update, downloads the update and right after the download is finished, it says (for a few seconds): "check for updates".

In other word´s, Malwarebytes does not see, that the user did allready check for updates and that a update was found and applied.

  2. if you want to reproduce it:

    - since the last install (i did a clean install last week with the old version), I did not have anything in my allow list.

(I did uninstall Malwarebytes some weeks ago.)

    - I added 3 files to exclude from ransomware detections

    - I added one File from Defender to exclude from all detections

    - I added the Defender folder to exclude from all detections

    - I removed something (one)

I tried the same today, nothing happend - but, this one time Malwarebytes crashed.

(maybe it only crashes, if you have never had anything in your allow list)

  3. After waking up the computer from sleep,

I click on the Malwarebytes icon,

and then, I click on "Scanner" (somewhere in the yellow)

    image.png.3554f2caf74bd3739b5718fcac4d73a0.png

and sometimes I get a empty window:

after a click on "Scan Planer" and back to "Scan",

the empty window is not empty anymore:

image.png.a8515d03f9bb390a0980cf8bae10ae51.png and you can see, that the last scan was a few hours ago.

    It does not always happen...

But if it does, it´s just when you open Malwarebytes the first time.

(If you want to reproduce it: restart the computer or turn it off, use the computer and don´t touch Malwarebytes at all, let your pc go to sleep and then open Malwarebytes for the first time

    - and maybe you have to do it, after a automated scan)

  4. hi everyone,

your cloud database is very very old...

    # -------------------------------
    # Malwarebytes AdwCleaner 8.4.0.0
    # -------------------------------
    # Build:    08-30-2022
    # Database: 2022-10-10.1 (Cloud)
    # Support:  https://www.malwarebytes.com/support
    #
    # -------------------------------
    # Mode: Scan
    # -------------------------------
    # Start:    06-12-2023
    # Duration: 00:00:04
    # OS:       Windows 10 (Build 19045.3031)
    # Scanned:  32098
    # Detected: 0

    ???

Is the date from the cloud database not relevant at all and AdwareCleaner is still using the newest definitions?

    Hello @FetzBox22:

Have you tried the alternative to Frankfort or Düsseldorf?

    Thank you.

just now: I got 100 Mbps Connection and if I use Malwarebytes VPN (my computer is connected with LAN cable to the router)

    Germany: 35-42 Mbps

    France: 42 Mbps

    Helsinki: 41 Mbps

    Estonia: 39 Mbps

    Greece: 37 Mbps

    Luxembourg: 1 Mbps

    Belgrade: 37 Mbps

    Romania: 34 Mbps

    Switzerland: 38 Mbps

    London 39 Mbps

    Kyiv: 40 Mbps

    New York: 34 Mbps

If I use Norton VPN, I got 62 Mbps (long time ago I had 80-90 Mbps).

Maybe, the problem is my router.

Last year I used a very new router, but now - it´s doing the job, but it´s a old router - maybe too slow for vpn.

But, Norton gives me 62 ...

  6. I have not Malwarebytes running in the background.

I have not Malwarebytes start with windows.

    But, Malwarebytes is still installed.

I can open it, and everything works the way it should work.

    Here is the problem:

If Malwarebytes does not start with windows, and is not running in the background,

and I choose to scan a folder with Malwarebytes, using the right mouse button

    image.png.07a5a8ddc06684e4f0b044cf2ac60c55.png

    nothing happens.

I thought Malwarebytes would start and scan that folder.
