there is a change... AdwCleaner is not using the cloud at the moment. AdwCleaner[S21].txt AdwCleaner_Debug.log

Looking at the scan log: Why does the scan log say "Startup: Disabled" ? Does a Quick Scan, scan the startup items, or not?

open Malwarebytes, click on "Scanner" and "Schedule a scan" (you might have to restart your computer first) for some reason this screen is not that sharp than anything else... The big "icons" and whats inside them, seem a little blurry. You can also switch to german, this looks a little bit more blurry.

👍 I agree with that.

YouTube is slowing down your PC if you have AdBlock installed
FetzBox22 replied to FetzBox22's topic in General Chat
update: the new version from AdBlock might solve the problem -
It's not just you: YouTube is slowing down your PC if you have AdBlock installed by making your CPU sweat, likely as part of its draconian war on ad blockers https://www.pcgamer.com/its-not-just-you-youtube-is-slowing-down-your-pc-if-you-have-adblock-installed-by-making-your-cpu-sweat-likely-as-part-of-its-draconian-war-on-ad-blockers/

Malwarebytes 5 Final Version in 2024
FetzBox22 replied to delphin136's topic in Malwarebytes 5 for Windows
read this carfully 😀🤗 (last note about 4.6 Beta) -
Hi Malwarebytes Team, I wish you all a good start in 2024! My last Windows installation was this year and I only use Windows Defender and/or Malwarebytes. Some days ago I decided to have Malwarebytes as my only Antivirus, those are my settings: Once I restart my computer, I takes about 2 Minutes for Defender, to realize, that Malwarebytes is there and working. Defender will start and give me some feedback that I don´t have an Antivirus, before Malwarebytes kicks in (after 2 minutes). I have never seen this behavior before, that it takes such a long time, for windows to realize, that there is another Antivirus. Maybe my installtion went wrong? This is my Autostart: it´s almost nothing... my computer is doing "nothing" after the restart... mbst-grab-results.zip

It was not myself, who found it. I was searching for it the "whole" night - nothing (doing a scan, over and over again) One of my friends came over for lunch and we were trying again and again. Just before giving up on it (2 hours later) ... "there is just one more thing you could try". -

-> you could also exclude manual updates from "Play mode"... Is there a Malwarebytes logic, that covers the following scenario? - A user has added Firefox (steaming), VLC and Excel to Play mode. - Because the user is working from home, the computer never get´s in too sleep mode, never get´s turned off and Firefox are open for 24 hours, same with VLC and Excel. -> When will Malwarebytes warn the user, that updates are too old? -> How long will it take, before Malwarebytes ever updates itself? -> Is there a Malwarebytes logic, that tell´s the user, that the program is not able to update, because of items using Play mode?

still, no clue... -
let me explain: If I add the VLC Player to Play mode, open VLC and start a Malwarebytes update - Malwarebytes will never update (this is okay). BUT, if I remove VLC from the Play mode and the Play mode is still on, VLC is open in the background, and start a Malwarebytes update - Malwarebytes will never update, this is not okay. The Playmode has no items added - but for Malwarebytes, there is still "some item in it". I had to turn off Play mode and then updates startet working again, or restart Malwarebytes - closing the program does not help. (Turning Play mode off and on again solves the problem too). I still think, this is a bug. I am on 5.0.15.93

... good question ... I read something about "think as a gamer" to find the clue for this holiday game

found the Problem... I did add Malwarebytes to the Play mode... But before checking for updates, I removed Malwarebytes from the Play mode and the Play mode was still on (with no item added). I had to turn off Play mode and then updates startet working again. Maybe it might be a bug, that even if I remove a Item from Play mode - it´s still on Play mode ??
