Confuses me too. Is at the moment 5.0.12.72 is the Release version and Bèta version the same? I have Bèta enabled and have version 5.0.12.72 without the bèta word.
.68 is the Release version at the moment, .72 is the Beta version even without the beta word

What should I do to upgrade?
enable Beta updates
This is a "Beta" and you are on the "Release"-Channel (it still confuses me >>> I gues we are getting closer to release )

I can not get this version... maybe, after your post they stopped it.
Do you have Beta-Updates enabled?

Right now I use Norton only.
I will wait for a new version of Malwarebytes 5.x
-
Just the "normal" uninstall.
-
I did uninstall Malwarebytes 5.x (no specific reason)
and now, I got some left over:
There is a left over ... 160 MB.
If I uninstall a software, I would expect it do be gone.

No what I meant is that not every build gets released.
For this example 217 is built and released -> you get it. Then 218 is built but not released -> you don't get this. Then 219 is built and released -> you get it.
So it's normal that you got 217 then 219.

That number is a build number and increments every DB build, not with every release of a DB update.
In other words: not every DB update has a build number?
For some user - including myself - it might be confusing, if there is no DB update for almost 22 hours.
If I see, that there is no update for 22 hours, it feels like, something went wrong.
My suggestion: explain it in a pop-up, in just in a few words:
"Malwarebytes also gets smal updates, even without new Build-Numbers...."
1 hour ago, icolcear said:MB5 uses the exact same update mechanism as MB4 does, so they should be getting the same Update package version at the same time.
Thanks for the explanation.

Is this an issue with Malwarebytes 5.x or was there just no update for Malwarebytes 4 at that time either (what I guess)?

If you look at the upate package version,
yesterday it was 1.0.74217 and today we got ...219, we just missed 1 update.

Which version do you have installed?
Your picture shows the older version ... 5.0.10.63
You should get the latest version (5.0.11.64), if you "check for updates".

Is this working for you (this is still a strange behavior...)?
Your picture shows the older Version ... 5.0.10.63

Was this during or right after an update?
Also, have you only encountered this once? Or are you still able to reproduce?
Would really help to know what were the circumstances around this.
I was watching a movie, in Firefox (Amazon Prime). I stoped the movie, and clicked on the Malwarebytes icon in the start menu. And the error...
This never happend again.

logs number 2logs_2.zip

I did start Malwarebytes again... but this time I got an error
I wanted to start Malwarebytes from the start menu, before it opend (I think it was allready on), I got this error.
Malwarebytes opend itself, but the error did not go away - I could click "ok" many times, nothing happend - I had to quit Malwarebytes.
Here are the logs.

Update:
If I delete Browser Guard and do a new install then it say´s something about "please upgrade..."
Malwarebytes is still there... it´s just not running in the background.
-
Browser Guard see´s Malwarebytes 5.x and the VPN (I don´t have) even if Malwarebytes is turned off.
Right now, I use Norton and Malwarebytes (Premium, without VPN).
Because I recieved the Windows Update, I did turn off Malwarebytes and I said "don´t start with windows".
The System installed the Windows update and rebooted.
There is just norton in the background and no Malwarebytes.
I would expect Browser Guard to say something like: "you are not secure ... Malwarebytes is there, but it´s not on - please turn it on."
-
same here, there seems to be an update issue with Malwarebytes 4.x - Maybe this is the cause ... ?
-
an option would be, to automatically scan new downloads
(norton call´s it "download-insight")

With the last update from Browser Guard for Firefox, the same happens in Firefox too (including the white color).

Also, even if the setting under General -> Update threat intelligence is set to the default 1 hour, this does not guarantee a Database Update will occur every hour, as there might not be a new database available yet.
Sometimes there is no database update for half a day ... I guess you guy´s have to go to bed as well :-)
