  1. Hi Brian67, If Yardbird's advice doesn't change things for you, Please download GT500's startup fix here at post #20 and follow his instructions on how to run it. Let us know how it goes.
  2. Then just post a new topic in the Malware Removal HijackThis Logs forum as outlined in the previous instructions without the logs (see note in green) and someone will help you as they become available.
  3. Hello J Matthews and Welcome to Malwarebytes.org If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve. Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now? If needed please post your logs in a NEW topic here: Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs When posting logs please do not use any Quote, Code, or other tags. Please copy/paste directly into your post and do not attach files unless requested. Please do not post any logs in the General forum. We do not work on any logs posted in the General forum. Please do not install any software or use any removal/scanning tool except for those you're requested to run by the Helper that will assist you. Using these other tools often makes the cleanup task more difficult and time consuming. If you have already submitted for assistance at one of the other support sites on the Internet then you should not post a new log here, you should stay working with the Helper from that site until the issue is resolved. Do not assume you're clean because you don't see something in the logs. Please wait until the person assisting you provides feedback. There are often many others that require asistance as well, so please be patient. If no one has responded within 48 hours then please go ahead and post a request for review NOTE: If for some reason you're unable to run some or any of the tools in the first link, then skip that step and move on to the next one. If you can't even run HijackThis, then just proceed and post a NEW topic as shown in the second link describing your issues and someone will assist you as soon as they can.

  9. Hi RobN and welcome to Malwarebytes.org This is a known bug and will be fixed in the next release. Meanwhile, GT500 has posted a fix for it here. See post #20 there.
  10. Hi volvic - As well as following what GT500 says, Service errors that used to be logged to the Windows event logs are now written to file in the MBAM Protection log. See if anything shows up there to give a clue. It is located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\

  13. @ kb-r How do you feel about outright uninstalling Zone Alarm for a week or two and just using the Windows firewall in the meanwhile? Your version is way past it's day as it is. Even the free version is 8.x It might also be worthwhile to try a memory test. You can download a free bootable iso of Memtest86+ from here.
  14. @ kb-r, Just curious, what Zone Alarm are you using? Is this the free version of the firewall or is it the full on Security Suite or Extreme Security? Have you tried making any adjustments there? The reason I ask is because of this quote from Zone Alarm support forums
  15. Hi DKDivideDude and Welcome to Malwarebytes.org Please see this topic and this one to see if you can get it to run. Some users are also reporting success by trying this, though I doubt this one will be of much use in your particular case. If these don't work, you'll need to move into the Malware Removal HijackThis Logs forum. Please note the bottom in green. If you're having Malware related issues with your computer that you're unable to resolve. Please read and follow the instructions provided here: I'm infected - What do I do now? 16. @ Sailing_Nut There's really not much we can do if you're not in control of the box. If your company is licensed, they can ask for support at corporate@malwarebytes.org. and we'll be more than happy to assist them. Otherwise, according to the EULA, even the free version of MBAM is only free for personal use, and not in any type of corporate or business environment.
  17. Hi angelbaby and Welcome to Malwarebytes This fix was for a completely different problem than you are having. 18. Hi Sailing Nut, Can you please be more specific about what you have tried? Your description doesn't really tell us anything so that we can move on to the next step(s) to advise you. Please start out here and follow the steps. They are suitable for your version of the program. More than 90% of the time, the problem is resolved either by setting exclusions in your Anti-Virus and/or Firewall, and then making sure that Internet Explorer is not set to offline mode and not using any proxies. Have you tried the clean removal and re-installation process outlined above?
  19. Hello Siewwa and Welcome to Malwarebytes.org We don't work on malware removal in this forum. Please see below. Due to the high volume of people who need help right now, it may be up to 5 days until someone can get to you. Meanwhile, you may want to take the opportunity to back up any data you definitely want to keep. Also, please don't cross-post the same things - you also have a post on this same thing in the General Malwarebytes Anti-Malware forum. 21. Hi tallywhacker, AdvancedSetup recently posted a lot of information to go through for helping to speed up a slow computer. You can look it over at this post.
  22. Hi Lecopi, I see that you've been trying to be patient over in the HJT forum, but unfortunately, when you make multiple postings over there, most of the helpers assume you are already being helped. When they are looking for someone who needs help, they are looking for 0 replies to be there. I also see that they are incredibly busy right now. The posts for just the last twenty-four hours stretch to the 4th page. Go ahead and send a Private Message to AdvancedSetup and let him know you are still waiting for help.
  23. Hi Mountaintree16, As far as the run thing goes. Right click on the start orb and select properties. Then the start menu tab Then Customize Then scroll down and you should see an option to display run I've never used PUI so not sure what to say except that if you look at the faq, if I understood it correctly (and I was skimiming to minimize time,) the main difference is whether you need the visual basic run time files. The full install includes that. As far as #1, #2,#3 go each is just a mirror site for each of the versions in case one of the other sites is unavailable. I've used RevoUninstaller many many times. I like it. There was a fairly long thread about it Here What I'm a little fearful of is that if Add/Remove Programs doesn't see it, then Revo may not either. So from that standpoint, it looks like in the description of PUI about being able to fix entries, that may be the better choice. Size-wise, both programs aren't that far apart. I did some Googling for a CIS removal tool and didn't see one. Some people have written a mish mash of manual and semi-automated instructions but I didn't see much coherency. I have CIS installed on one of my XP machines and it shows up as expected in Add/Remove Programs. I was hoping it might have some funny name but it didn't. Have you looked in the Start -> Programs to see if there is a Comodo group and an uninstall in there? Another trick that may work is to download a new copy of CIS and try to do a re-install over the top. Sometimes it works and will get back some of the missing settings so you can do a "normal" uninstall. Works better than 50% of the time for me. Maybe someone else has some more advice. You may have to resign yourself to leaving it as is for tonight. I know you don't want to do that, but sometimes it can't be helped.
  24. Hi snorlax. Did you happen to catch post #55 above from (AdvancedSetup to Double Eagle) and follow that link? It has do with another user finally finding a scanning solution. Don't know if this would help or not, but it's worth a try.
