  1. ok now i am getting it. the connection was still reset though. so, maybe they were having troubles. you can lock or delete this post. ill be back if i have any more problems, as i havent installed it yet.
  2. sorry, dont know where this goes. im sure im in the wrong place. so, i got a new computer. well, its new to me anyways. and so i need to get the program on this computer. i have been getting some popups and some other issues. ran my Avast and nothing came up on that. but, still getting popups when im not even on the popup sites. :/ im runnning: XPsp3 Pro; Firefox browser. so, i go to the usual place to get the MalwareBytes program (Cnet.com) and when i tick the "download now" button, i get a blank white page with the message "connection reset". every time this happens. theres got to be some kind of thing either blocking me from dl it or some type of malware on here that is stopping me. any ideas what could be causing this?
  3. ok thanks. ill try to get the runtime error number for you too. ill be sure to look. TYVM
  4. nah...usually it disappears too quick. just like when FF has a problem and has to quit.
  5. whoa! this is weird. i accidentally clicked on MB, instead of going into the control panel, and it came up. no error. and then i tried to scan the same file on my desktop and it worked! i wonder why i got the error? and maybe i should have tried it again last time. :/
  6. ok...though this will be the second re-install. but, ill try it again. seems though, that after i have it for a while, aaand after running scans with it a few times, thats whe i start to have problems. i also have been getting run time errors, along with FF crashing a lot. dont know if that has anything to do with this program running properly. thanks.
  7. also, i tried a while back to upgrade, as i use to have XP sp3 on another computer. and with this computer, it ends up crashing. and i have reinstall or recover everything. i think i tried 4 times before i finally gave up on it. D:
  8. hey... i just got that error again when i tried to scan a file on my desktop. :/ guess ill follow those instructions again. just wanted to let you know it happened again. thanks for all the help, guys.
  9. ok, i re-installed the program and it runs ok. so, i guess that means its not blocked by my firewall. and i couldnt really find that folder you showed me how to get to. for some reason this computer doesnt have everything in its regular spots. like, i go to my computer/documents and settings/all users.. then it only has 4 items (desktop, favs, shared documents, and start menu). no Applications data. i went through the start menu/programs/MBAM. and it didnt show anything about a log. so i have no idea why its like that. :/ but, it seems to be ok so far. i will let you know if i have any more problems with it. thank you very much for all of your help.
  10. ok thank you! im just going to uninstall and reinstall it. i cant figure out where to find if i got it blocked somewheres. did i mention i have addblocks and no scripts? i know this gives me a problem with some programs.
  11. i also forgot to add that i am running on a xp2 with Firefox browser. also, it just started happening, all of a sudden my browser is constantly crashing. i dont know if this has anything to do with the mbam problem, but thought i would add it.
  12. hi. im new to this forum. i have had MBAM for over a year, off and on. i have never had a problem with it in the past, but now i am getting an error when i try to run it. the following message poops up: "An error occurred. Please report the folooowing error to the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware support forum. Error code: 703 (0.7) is this a corrupted program or a malware? thanks for any help.
