Hi,

I will be giving a 2 hour presintation on virus / malware removal and prevention on April 30th. I would like to be able to demonstate virus removal software in action so I am looking to locate files containing viruses that I can load onto a computer. I am also looking for any information about viruses that I can use in the presentation. Can anyone help me? I have a part time computer repair business where I remove many viruses.

Thanks

   ... what AS said .

in all seriousness though , it is a good practical demonstration of what/why/how stuff (aka : fecal matter) happens .

it could be tied into the class itself ...

at the beginning of your dissertation let a couple of the "students" start surfing at/for the type of sites AS mentioned .

although you might want to be a bit careful if the comp displays are projected to be visible to the rest of the class ...

but the real world also has malicious re-directs to porn sites , so it would indeed be a valid representation .

perhaps a little forewarning would be in order . in the day-to-day world , "sensibilities" are not not delineated when it comes to this stuff .

this would give a graphic representation of the way the infection "gets into" the comp .

you could point out the various steps along the way ; " ... now , clicking on this will allow the malicious code to be downloaded ..." .

a few screen shots of some of the different pop-ups , fake warnings , bogus "updates" , etc , would be good presentation material .
