Windows 7 Service pack 1 update bug

I am using windows 7 ultimate. Recently I updated it to the latest release of service pack 1 update of windows 7. Since I reboot the system after update, none of my drives (including system drive) open on double clicking it. I already tried rolling back updates by uninstalling it and system restore.. but no luck,, Though I can open my drives from selecting it using location bar. I don't suspect no malware or virus.

Here is an image of an error message it gives on double clicking any of the drives:

While you await a reply from the kind and expert folks here, perhaps you might want to have a look over here: http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/

There are many Windows 7 gurus there and I have personally found them to be expert and prompt.

(Which is not to say that the folks here at MBAM are not -- it's just that the sevenforums folks work on Win7 stuff 24/7/365. There are open threads there at the moment about just about every conceivable bug, error, crash and failure problem related to SP1....)

I know that there are problems with certain drivers and SP1, as explained here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2498452, though I don't know if this applies to your situation.

Going to where daledoc1 has directed you to above is an excellent idea.

Did you have encryption turned on those drives before you did the update to SP1? (that could be why this happened)

I updated two computers last night and 2 this morning and did not encounter any issues. (Lucky Me)

@Firefox No, I didn't turn on encryption for the drives or uninstalled drivers, antivirus before making the update. I will try updating the drivers.
