The first and second time it happened was when I deleted the Ubuntu partition, rebooted, fixed the mbr, reinstalled Ubuntu, booted windows and the first reboot from windows resulted in a bsod. This time I did a normal restart and it took several minutes to reboot and finally bsod.I'm concerned the NTFS file system suffered damage. I deleted the swap space under Ubuntu which could not be re extended, but only formatted by windows. I used it once.I prefer using my backup images when I have a problem I can't fix.I have never used the F12 Key. I have seen it displayed in upper right hand corner after restart.If I see diagnostics; do I just click on it?What does it do ?? I'm not having any problems. I just read this topic and saw some thing I had never heard of. Firefox was kind enough to explain. I found Drive Diagnostics on my PC with the F12 Key, but sense I'm not having any problems, I decided not to click on it and just rebooted Normal. I know about the memory test and burned me a disk to check my RAM. As far as I know I have no problems.I just try to learn at least one thing a day.I know I'm windy: that's the way some of us old people are. I will not post further on Buttons topic. It will not erase anything, it just tests it. It not a bad idea to run it from time to time to help detect when your drive is STARTING ot go bad. I have my OS backed up with Macrium Reflect.
