Android/Trojan.Spy.SpyNote.cscrsdnew on Kindle Fire

Recommended Posts

Hello. Please help!  I hope this is a problem with false positives!

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is reporting that over 50 files on my Kindle Fire HD 10 are infected with Android/Trojan.Spy.SpyNote.cscrsdnew .  If I allow Malwarebytes to delete all the infected files, the device will be useless.

The infected files include many apparent system files, such as:

--  /data/app/amazon.alexa.tablet-1/base.apk

-- /data/app/com.amazon.aca-1/base.apk

Specifics:

Kindle Fire HD 10 7th gen
Fire OS 5.7.1.0

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
App version 2.1.2.1
Malware DB version 2024.07.23.01
Malware URL DB version 2024.07.23.01

I don't see any option to export and send any logs to Malwarebytes.

Please advise whether I'm seeing false positives, or whether my device is hosed.

Thank you!

That is a very old version of the software. Is the current version in the Amazon store?

I do not think Fire is supported. That could be art of the issue.

The Malwarebytes app was removed from the Amazon store due to changes in Amazon's requirements.

So Amazon's requirements was the driving factor.  Apparently nothing has changed in the past 4 years.
