Ooooo, that means wildfires too. To clear skies and temps at least zero F

Very little snow this year, my front lawn was almost bare up until a couple weeks ago which is unheard of here. Last year at the same time there was probably 80 cm. of snow on it. So yes, there will be plenty of fires. An evergreen forest starts about 400 meters from my house. Uh oh. 😝

Hardly surprising, and a waste of money on those studies if you ask me.

If you are likely to freeze or boil to death if you go outsde then you are not going to socialise as much so will have less developed social skills.

Of course simply stating the bleedin' obvious does not get doctorates etc., you need to show some research work for that - preferably something that takes time, costs a lot, (fully funded by others), and fills a warehouse with paperwork that no-one will ever read.
Oh and doesn't tell you anything more than what everybody already knows.

Yesterday, I did something extraordinary: NewTricks went to the movies! Noteworthy for two reasons; the last time I entered a theater was for Aquaman in 2018. This time it was for another long hair, Bob Marley. The second reason?  The theater provided an apparatus for closed captioning.

Most portable units are small, rectangular boxes the size of cell phone. Those pictured, no doubt were designed to avoid theft! The front contains 4 vanes, which I guess were to reduce light transmission and disruption to other viewers. It fits in a cup holder.

The first Bob Marley documentary in 2012 received the best reviews. But who wouldn't like sitting in recliner which picks up the bass from Dolby surround sound & vibrates the entire body?  The movie omitted my favorite Trench Town Rock. The classic lyrics, "one good thing about music, when it hits, you feel OK" are true for many.

Attached is a screenshot of a television show, The Wild Wild West on CBS from 1965-1969. Robert Conrad (left) Ross Martin (right). Found on Frndly TV and Amazon (seasons 1-4)  The director owned rights to Ian Fleming's James Bond novel, Casino Royale (1953). This show was a blend of Westerns and spy-movies popular at the time. Surprisingly, this show has endured for 55 years.

I had straight A in all classes but was bored. Typically completed assignments within 15 minutes or less. Had already read multiple chapters ahead of all classes. Thought going to the Service would present me with new experiences and I'd get a college degree while I was in.

It did provide so many wonderful experiences and even a few harrowing experiences.

It's disappointing you were not "challenged" more. A straight A student at that age shows discipline. How many years did you serve?

Yes, I'm sure being in a foreign country offered some experiences that have stayed with you. Regarding the harrowing ones, you survived. I'm glad.
