  1. The only thing I can say, don't install any program and not watch the screen. One never knows what is happening with even "safe" installers, even from reliable companys. I don't know what would have happened if I did not see the popup as I watch my computers when using them.
  2. A freeware program I use packages Open Candy with their installer. MBAM catches it during the install. You probably missed the popup. Open candy is easily removed from Programs and Features in Control Panel.
  3. What is the name of the file that the scan got "stuck" on. I asked before so two strikes and your out.
  4. Could be. OFF TOPIC, but I was just reading 3 reports of ssd not working after firmware update. Those updates wipet hose drives. Normal unless someone knows better. Stand by, someone will blame that on MBAM
  5. I run it on 3 machines with build 1511 without a problem. So be smart and go where 1PW advised. Also would help if which files it hungup on.
  6. I was looking for an acknowledgement at least. I am way past upset.
  7. Getting ticked off. Go back to the task schedular an stop this stuff. You are trying to much new stuff and your programers don't know what they are doing.
  8. They should go back to using the Task Schedular instead of doing their own thing.
  9. Normally by this time a scan would have been done. NOPE DAY THREE I think you should got back to using the Task Schedular because this is screwed up.
  10. Not sure of today yet. One of the logs shows Windows 8.1 is really Windows 10. Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
  11. As I said, I only posted the idea. I have always run my computers as Administrator so don't normally run into problems with user rights. Maybe that is the reason I have so few problems except with programs that are written poorly. And issues with a new OS. Include XP, 7,8/8.1 and 10. Wonder how many programers want to jump off the cliff with each new version of Windows. I know I did when my supervisor gave me telephone system, I never heard of, manual and said go fix the thing.
  12. Something about this came up as a usenet question and thought to post here to maybe help others. With Windows, you can modify a shortcut to run as Administrator or modify the .exe file of a program to do the same.. Thought this may help someone running MBAM under a regulator user account and not Admin account. Yes/No ?
  13. In case you don't know, you have to upgrade through 8.1 > get the Media Creation Tool and make a dvd or usb flash stick and run setup on either. Then Microsoft will know about your computer and don't have to enter a "key". Press skip when it asks for a key. This is the only way to do it even if you want to do a clean install Do a custom install so you can stop MS from recording everything you do. Unless you don't care about MS spying. Debatable as of now !?? If you upgrade with the dvd or usb stick, it will keeps your programs. This is a "new" OS so it should be a good install. Just install MBM and your key will be ok.
  14. I don't understand all the stuff with this thread. Ebay is known for JUNK. In other words if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. If you don't check something before buying it, it is your fault for being stupid. If you get screwed, it is your own fault. There is only one thing I purchase through Ebay, something that is inexpensive and can't be found anywhere else. The last thing I purchased was a usb to sata disk adapter. $5 because the "good" one I got from NewEgg blew out my usb ports before I realized it. Anyone want o buy the Brooklyn Bridge ?
  15. Until a regular helper can answer Check > Settings > Advanced Settings > if Enable Self-Protection is checked, you can't make any changes.
  16. Installed latest version and just noticed it did not scan at the usual time for two days. Will wait one more day before I get ticked off. How come every new version breaks something that has been great ?
  17. That information is good because it tells which license was used.
  18. Funny how all the experts we never heard of come out of the woodwork. I actually had Superantispyware detect something nothing else did. It was not a false positive. Each of my security programs has picked up something. so, they do work in tandem. Only one antivirus should be used at a time. Each antimalware works differently as to where it looks for traces.
  19. I have run both for years without a problem. I just program exclusions in each.
