I noticed the visual change in the forum. I think they updated the forum software.

CCleaner's default under Applications, Malwarebytes is unchecked. You have other problems that CCleaner only seems to cure.

I only posted because I have seen "run as administrator" mentioned more than once for certain operations. I don't care how others run their computers and don't pay attention to comments about how I should run mine. I expect my security programs to work as a FIRST line of defense. If they don't do as I expect them to do, they are gone with a big bitch also realizing they can't catch everything.

We all are in a vulnerable state these days!!

Using Compatibility Mode at the top, Vista,Win 7,Win 8 settings are very bad to play with. I went through that trap years ago. Changing the run as Admin setting does not affect anything else to the shortcut or program. This setting can also be changed to the "program.exe" if it allows you.

I run everything as Admin, but this may work. If you are running as admin, right click on the short cut, go to properties, compatibility. Down the bottom is change settings for all users and check run as admin. I have Win 10 pro and run as admin so don't know if this true for Win 10 "home"

I know they do not have a free vesion anymore. The site I posted still has one although I can't say for how long. So far I haven't found a problem with it.. I haven't looked through my backups to see if I have a copy of the last two versions. Probably couldn't post it legaly because of copyright. I looked to see how much they want for the "home". Don't think it was too expensive. Someone will come along with a similar program, some year!!

Since I was looking for help Malwarebytes got top billing for not doing anything. And the excuse that not every program can't catch everything doesn't carry any weight. CryptoWall is a big bad program that is everywhere. While I don't make many mistakes, this was a doosie !!

Got an answer back from the removal forum, but I screwed the computer trying something else not related to CryptoWALL. Trying to get a recovery cd made for Pargon Recovery, MS wanted me to download an update. That screwed the Paragon program which I am trying to repair Windows 10. Haven't had this much fun in years !!!!

Sorry, but I screwed something else up and need to restore an image or reinstall Windows 10 Hope you didn't spend too much time on this. I was reading that many of the encripted files usually can't be restored any way.

Will this thing infect file on another partition. I do have an image of my C: drive if it can't be cleaned. It got my D: partition also !!

Think I found my answer. I have no .pdf files left in my Documents folder. I do have files with really strange names.

Oppened a Statement.js zip and tried to open it and got warning. I don't know which security program I have did the warning or if I got infected. The last time I got hit was installing XP with the rj45 connected to a router. How do I tell if I got GOT ? Thank You PS I can upload the file with permission I have MBAM Pro, Superantispyware Pro and Agnitum Outpost Security Suite running full time.
