  1. I went back to KIS 2010 a few days ago. On both computers I had MBAM paid. There have been no problems. I had some trouble with KIS and SAS Pro on one computer, but have not tried it on this one. I think one needs something like MBAM or SAS to run alongside the AV. I think if KIS would not run with either I would ditch it, and go to either Avira or F-Secure. Both run well with both on my machines. Regards, Jerry
  2. Today I was looking for the download site for MBAM free to send to my daughter. I googled and various links came up. One looked like MBAM and I clicked on it. I am running MBAM in real time, and it immediately blocked the site as malicious. When I examined the site link carefully I noticed it was not exactly Malwarebytes but a slightly different name.. It is my opinion that MBAM saved me from an infection, and from having to clean the computer. MBAM is one application that I am not going to ditch, and if by chance it conflicts with my AV I'll ditch the AV. So far it is running well with Kaspersky. Regards, Jerry
  3. I was getting this error code, but it is fixed now with the latest update. Regards, Jerry
  4. I just purchased a second copy for my laptop, and am also getting error code 1073 and 02. Is this an update problem? Regards, Jerry
  5. Many thanks. That is a great deal, and I am about to get another for my other computer. I have decided I am going to run MBAM in real time along with my AV. Thanks again. Regards, Jerry
  6. I seem to remember that MBAM offered a lifetime license. Is such a license still offered? Thanks, Jerry
  7. I had thought that an AV was enough until my friend got infected with antivir. His AV, Norton, did not detect it, but this AM we removed it with MBAM with a quick scan revealing it and then removing it. I must admit it has changed my thinking, and now I am running MBAM full time with F-Secure IS. On my other system I use Avira Premium, and SAS Pro since I have a lifetime license. I also use Win Patrol Pro on both. I am going to settle on those combinations until something shows me I need something else. Regards, Jerry
  8. Hi noknojon This morning I went to my friend's house and took a CD with MBAM on it. We installed it and ran a quick scan without updating, and removed the antivir rogue. I advised him to update and run a complete scan. We also ran a-squared after removal by MBAM and it found the computer clean. Thanks for the help, and a great anti-malware application. Regards, Jerry
  9. Thanks, and I always update before scanning, and do a complete scan ever few weeks. I do a quick scan every week with all my anti malware/AV applications. So tomorrow we go to MBAM to rid his computer of antivir rogue. Regards, Jerry
  10. Since my friend just got infected with the rogue antivir and Norton did not detect either when he got infected or on a later scan, I decided I am going to run MBAM or SAS Pro along with my AV/suite. If my favorite AV won't run with them I will switch to another which will do so. Years ago I had a similar experience with Bit Defender, and they wanted me to remove all other security software. I ditched BD forever. Regards, Jerry
  11. Many thanks, noknojon. The big potential problem involved conflicts between SAS Pro and Avira both running. So far, since I made a clean install of SAS Pro today all has been well. I have two lifetime licenses for SAS Pro. I really do appreciate the timely and great help and advice. Your Avatar is cute. Regards, Jerry
  12. Many thanks for the great help. I have no doubt that MBAM is at the top of the list at handling malware not picked up by AVs. I purchased it today for one computer. I was thinking MBAM once had a lifetime license. I did not see such an option or a price break for a second computer license. I am running FSIS and Avira Premium on my desk top and laptop respectively. On my laptop I am also running SAS Pro,but understand that are conflicts between SAS and Avira. I may move my new MBAM license to the laptop, and use SAS pro with FSIS. I had not been concerned to run an anti-malware application alongside my AV, but used them for on-demand scans. However, since my friend using Norton got infected with the antivir rogue, I have reconsidered and think it is better to run either MBAM or SAS real time also. Nosirrah, I seem to remember you began with Castle Cops forum, but not sure. That was awhile ago. Obviously you are doing great. Keep it up, and all have a Blessed Christmas. Regards, Jerry
  13. Does MBAM paid detect and prevent infection of antivir? I have a friend who got it on his computer and is going to use MBAM to clean it today. If he was running MBAM in real time would it have prevented the infection? Thanks. I have been using it on demand, but just purchases it and intend to run it alongside FS IS. Evidently AVs don't detect this rogue. He was using Norton, and even a scan did not pick it up. Regards, Jerry
  14. On the first scan MBAM results showed Trojan Agent, connected to ebay. Any danger with it? Even if not it is a good thing to know, and I assume I should place it on the ignore list.
