Now with all that said I would like to see a backup restore function for MB as it would save 30 seconds of work on each install.
Yes, I agree - I'd like to see the function added in future.

Awesome!

If you're running Windows 10 and have Fast Boot enabled (which is the default), shutting down and restarting doesn't carry out full reboot. Try using the Restart option instead and see if it resolves your issue.

Just to say that I installed 3.2.2 2018 over the previous 3.1.1 2018 BETA and all went well, apart from a heart-stopping moment when the Dashboard informed me that "your subscription ends today" in red letters before changing to the expected Premium Dashboard (I have a lifetime Premium edition). Everything seems to have carried across apart from my Language : English (Queen's Original) which had reverted to English - American and changed the date format. Annoying, but I know you are aware of the BUG and will fix it in time, I hope.

The universal account login/setup URL is:
That link allows you to log in if you already have an account but you can't create a new user account. I'm guessing that a user account is only created if the user is paying annually and that there isn't one for a lifetime licence - or have I got that wrong? My Premium licence is lifetime and I don't remember ever having an account set up.

So, do I read you correctly - you don't use Malwarebytes in active mode now at all?

As per latest AV-Comparatives , you have Avast !, AVG, F-Secure, Panda, Symantec, Trend Micro with 100% detection by themselves .
Adding MBAM to these antiviruses will not get you 101% detection rate.
Nobody, absolutely nobody, in the real world is going to get 100% detection rates of viruses and malware. You can provide test results showing 100% detection rate of a group of test samples but it means little to the end user, apart from giving them a false sense of security.
Backing up your computer(s) regularly to at least two other locations, exercising common sense in web browsing and email handling, and using Malwarebytes Premium alongside a reputable and trusted antivirus package of your choice is what I recommend to those who ask my advice. And my personal preference is to use CryptoPrevent as well as taking regular registry backups with Tweaking.com's Registry Backup.

Thanks Devin, Outlook.exe protection must have disappeared at an earlier stage, and I didn't notice. The log was created following the boot up where the System Tray icon was absent and before a subsequent reboot.
-
Hi Devin,
The link in your post didn't work but I've downloaded and run the mb_check file and the results are attached. Interestingly, when I fired up the laptop today, the MB Tray Icon was not present although, as far as I can tell, Malwarebytes is loaded and active.

CryptoPrevent Premium 8.0.4.2I run a daily registry backup on startup using the Tweaking.com's Registry Backup 3.5.3 as a component of Windows Repair All In One 4.0.2 - this uses the Volume Shadow Copy service and I sometimes wonder whether this might interfere in some way with the smooth initialisation of other services, like antivirus and antimalware?

That's right - although I added Outlook.exe to the Protected Applications in the past, I can't swear that it was present in the exclusions when I over-installed the beta, it could conceivably have been a previous upgrade that caused it to disappear and I didn't notice, although I don't think so. Would any logs be helpful?
-
Installed 3.2.1 2008 Beta over latest stable release and addition of Outlook to Protected Applications which I had made had disappeared from the settings. This is in addition to the failure to carry over the Language and Scan Schedule settings that I'd previously reported.
-
Installed 3.2.1 Beta 2 over the previous release Premium on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and all seems OK, except neither language setting (English UK) nor scan schedule (I subsequently deleted and recreated it) were carried across.

Oh how true, Skier ?

And still an issue, I believe - but glad to help.

This is the website of a popular restaurant I've visited from time to time in Argenton, France which is completely safe but is blocked by Malwarebytes. I have successfully placed an exclusion in my copy of Malwarebytes

Yes, I'm running that same version and build of Avast but without any problems to date - fingers crossed.................
Since I posted this, a further update of Avast 2017 started to give me problems and, try as I might, I couldn't resolve them. I decided it was time to go back to MSE, as I decided that this, alongside Malwarebytes 3.0 Premium, CryptoPrevent 8.0 and a regular system backup strategy was adequate protection.

Is MB Clean able turn off MB 3 Premium's Self Protection mode when it runs or is it necessary for the user to do this manually before using the tool? I'm asking just for information - I have turned off Self Protection myself prior to running the tool just be on the safe side but I've not noticed such advice being included in instructions on running MB Clean in these forums.
Thanks
-
I've carried out the reinstallation via the MB Clean Tool route again - all seemed to go well. Will re-post with logs if problems reappear.
-
OK, I'll run MB Clean again and see what happens - will reply to this thread if the issue is not resolved.......

I should have mentioned that I already carried out the clean / reinstall procedure you suggested after I saw this happen the last time (using the current release). I had hoped the issue was resolved. So I'll carry out the procedures suggested in stage 2 of your post when I have a moment and re-post with the logs. Thanks for your help.

Occasionally when booting up the computer, Malware protection module fails to load. Closing Malwarebytes from the System Tray and restarting Malwarebytes from the desktop icon seems to solve the problem - mb-check-results.zip attached. Self Protection Module is enabled............

Mike,
A temporary workaround until they fix this annoying bug is to choose English UK language, when the date format will appear as you expect. This formatting is lost on upgrading or reinstalling (another annoying bug) but it should be rectified in a future release.

CryptoPrevent 8 from FoolishIT provides a level of protection against Ransomware on XP. Nothing is going to give you total protection, however. I use CryptoPrevent Premium on Windows 7 alongside Malwarebytes 3 Premium but, never having been attacked, can only say that the product looks effective.
