Just think, if we would have had negative reputation enabled, you could have simply clicked a button to share your feelings on it!

    hey all

I have a great idea Suggestion ! a + 1 like button (for a topic and post) need to be Enable it if it is available in admin cp ! :P:rolleyes:

Thanks for sharing your suggestion! We talked a bit about this but decided to move it way down our list of priorities (we wanting to further discuss) as we working through a few other things first. Our discussion was around how the feature could work for us, what are some high-level pros and cons, etc. That's about as far as we got on it. Certainly open to discussing it in the future after we get past some other items (which we alluded to here - more on this soon).

This would enable the reputation system and I can tell you from experience that this is a double-edged blade, and I don't think it's needed on a support forum for a company. Maybe on other kind of forums, but not this one. I'm pretty sure it's been discussed before (recently too) and we've been told that it won't happen.

We're open to discussing just about anything for the forums. As I shared above, we haven't made a final decision on this yet. Well, rather we haven't discussed it in detail with the community and made a recent call to enabled it or keep it disabled.

Since we're talking about it now... what do the rest of you think about enabling the reputation system?

  3. We have completed the update to the latest version. You can check out the changes here: https://invisionpower.com/release-notes/41122-r45/

We'll continue to test this against the current set of known issues (per the community and our findings). We had been testing some "basic BBCode" items in the preview of 4.1.12. We'll continue to test on 4.1.12.2 and then share our findings.

Please continue to share any issues you come across.

Looking at the signup process now, I see something that would be a quality change that would help stop the spam.

Thanks for this and your PM. We'll take a look and get back to everyone here.

  6. We're working with IPS to determine when we'll be updating to the new version. You can check out the changes here: https://invisionpower.com/release-notes/4112-r40/ - lots of enhancements!

Two items we'll all be interested in are the Preview Post feature and some not documented in the release notes BBCode changes. And to manage expectations, these BBCode changes are not the IPS platform fully supporting BBCode. Instead, we've been working with IPS on a handful of what we consider "basic BBCode" support items to ensure they work. More on this a bit later after we have some time to fully test.

    Hi all!

Does anyone here know if home users can get the Techbench USB? I use one where I work, where I am in Desktop Support but specialise in malware mitigation and removal. I thought it'd be nice to have one of those for personal use since I'm often running around doing malware clean-up for family and friends. Not to mention that it would be nice to have in the event that one of my personal machines is totally comprimised.

Hello! Techbench is not available for home / personal use.

Related to Techbench but not your home / personal question... we're going to be changing this offering pretty dramatically in the near future. Stay tuned!

The 7-zip dll that is installed alongside the latest version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (2.2.1.1043) is at the following path, on PCs I have checked

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\7z.dll

According to the dll properties, this is version 9.20.0.0 (not v16.0, the latest patched dll)

There are posts on the 7-zip forums indicating that version 9.20 of 7-zip is still subject to at least one of the recently discovered vulnerabilities, CVE-2016-2335, though these posts have not yet been acknowledged by the author

    https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/discussion/45797/thread/a8fd6078/?page=1

I would appreciate it if you could please re-confirm that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not vulnerable to CVE-2016-2335?

Hello. The 7-zip vulnerabilities reported center around functionality used to process UDF disk images and zlib formatted archives only. MBAM does not make use of this technology in 7-zip, so MBAM is not affected. Additionally, we’ll be including a patched library in a future build.

I also added this information to our main post.

    Michael:

Are you stating that IPS took the forum down last Friday night, for approximately eight hours, without notice, and without Malwarebytes' knowledge or permission?

No, not exactly. They notified us. On Sunday morning they took an action on our admin accounts before we knew about it - which we agreed with. Shortly after this, they sent us information and within a few minutes after getting this message, we engaged with them and started working on the additional admin / ACP testing and locking down of our ACP.

  10. A quick follow-up on our previous message. We have two things to share concerning the last few days.

The first is concerning the update to 4.1.10. Please check out the update thread and see what changed. IPS has been hard at work helping us (and the rest of their community partners) with various v4 issues and concerns. We could really use your help in testing out the issues you've seen post the 4.1.8.1 update. If you're still seeing them or have found they are addressed with 4.1.10, please let us know. Also, post up the new stuff you've found!

The second is concerning a breach of another IPS site that was housed on the same infrastructure as ours. The malicious user did not exploit any software, but rather, used an admin account in which they seemingly knew the credentials to access the Admin Control Panel (ACP) for the target site.

At this time we do not think our site was affected by this. Additionally, we do not show any abnormal ACP activity over the period in question. The downtime you may have seen over the weekend was IPS taking precautionary steps to ensure our site (and others) did not fall victim to the unauthorized ACP access. Immediately after being notified, we took additional steps in locking down our ACP. Both us and IPS have been monitoring the situation heavily over the last three days.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we progress through both of these.

This seems to have been solved. All the posts I had copied into the WYSIWYG editor (after the forums upgrade) had lost the images, but they are OK now.

    One down. :)

    What about this one?

I'm seeing issues with the images here. This should be related to the stuff from the weekend and IPS is working on it for us.

    +1 this.

Honestly, light/white themes are quite of hurting the eyes. Whenever I have the option to choose a dark skin (preferably black) on a forum, I do. It makes it way easier to browse the forum/site. I do the same in Notepad++, IDEs, etc.

If there's one thing that changed between MBAM Forums IPS3 and IPS4, it's the white touch of the skin, which is way more accentuated now.

    +1

We need to get through a few things before we can adjust stuff like this. Please know it's on our list to review.
