Maurice Naggar Posted January 18 ID:1612327 Share Posted January 18 Microsoft Defender antivirus scanned over three million files and found no threats. One can no longer say that Microsoft Defender is not present. It is in fine shape. I would recommend getting readout reports as to update status of some key apps. Temporarily disable Microsoft SmartScreen to download the next software below Download SecurityCheck by glax24 from here and save the tool on the desktop. If Windows's SmartScreen block that with a message-window, then Click on the MORE INFO spot and over-ride that and allow it to proceed. This tool is safe. Smartscreen is overly sensitive. Right-click with your mouse on the Securitycheck.exe and select "Run as administrator" and reply YES to allow to run & go forward Wait for the scan to finish. It will open in a text file named SecurityType.txt. Close the file. Attach it with your next reply. You can find this file in a folder called SecurityCheck, C:\SecurityCheck\SecurityCheck.txt Next, Download Farbar's Service Scanner utility and Save to your Desktop. Right-Click on fss.exe and select Run As Administrator. Answer Yes to ok when prompted. If your firewall then puts out a prompt, again, allow it to run. Once FSS is on-screen, be sure the following items are check-marked: Internet Services Windows Firewall System Restore Security Center/Action Center Windows Update Windows Defender Other services Click on "Scan". It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach that file. When all done, you may go back to turn ON the EDGE Smartscreen protection. dbg Posted January 20 Author ID:1612625 Share Posted January 20 When I download it, it gets removed by windows defender stating it to be trojan. Do i have to off the defender?
Maurice Naggar Posted January 20 ID:1612629 Share Posted January 20 Temporarily disable Microsoft SmartScreen 'BEFORE" downloading the software tools. Plus you could also use a different web browser other than EDGE.
dbg Posted January 21 Author ID:1612754 Share Posted January 21 The SecurityCheck thing gets downloaded but then windows defender removes it stating it to be a trojan. So do it have to put the defender off while downloading it? Tried in chrome. It got blocked. I clicked allow. It got downloaded but then got removed my defender
Maurice Naggar Posted January 21 ID:1612760 Share Posted January 21 Securitycheck.exe is being falsely flagged. Very unfortunate. You should be able to go toe Defenders protection history. Find that event. Select it and choose to have restored. But, yes, go ahead and see about turning off the antivirus protection. Get the tool downloaded. Run the Security check. Attach report in a reply. Then insure to get the Defender antivirus on.

Make sure to make time and do a Full system Backup to offline storage media. Backup is your best friend. This here is for cleanup of tools I had you use. 👌💢 Temporarily disable Microsoft SmartScreen to download the next software below Let's go ahead and do some clean-up work and remove the tools and logs we've run. Please download KpRm by kernel-panik and save it to your desktop. right-click kprm_2-15.exe and select Run as Administrator. Read and accept the disclaimer. When the tool opens, ensure all boxes under Actions are checked. Under Delete Quarantines select Delete Now, then click Run. Once complete, click OK. After that completes, Delete mb-support-1.9.7.1002.exe Delete mbst-grab-results.zip on the Desktop. Your system is good-to-go. 😎 Sincerely.
