MB v4.5.27 - Option to Notify "Only If Items Are Detected" Removed?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if the option to "Notify me when a scan completes, only if items are detected" in the advanced settings of scheduled scans is no longer available in the latest MB v4.5.27 (rel. 20-Apr-2023)?

According to the Malwarebytes support article Set up scheduled scans in Malwarebytes for Windows (see item # 4 of the section "Add or Edit scheduled scans") this option should be available, but when I check the Advanced settings of my default daily Threat Scan (i.e., if I choose "Scanner" tile on main GUI | Scan Scheduler | Edit | Advanced) there is no option to "Notify me when a scan completes, only if items are detected".

I created a new custom scan today and confirmed that option is also missing from newly created scheduled scans as well- at least on my system. The image in Porthos' 21-Dec-2021 post in the product suggestion Please let me disable SCAN COMPLETE notifications shows that this option was added to MB v4.5.0 (see the 13-Dec-2021 release notes <here>), but if that option was removed at some point after December 2021 I can't find any mention of that change in the Malwarebytes 4.5 release notes.

    • Clean: Performs an automated uninstallation of all Malwarebytes products installed to the computer and prompts to install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows afterwards. The Premium license key is backed up and reinstated. All user configurations and other data are removed. This process requires a reboot.

Hi Porthos:

Thanks, mystery solved.  After seeing your image I found the following in the 15-Mar-2022 v4.5.6 release notes <here>, so I assume that's what I was looking for:

Quote

 What’s New in this 4.5.6:

  • Complete scan notification setting is now in: Settings - Notifications tab
  • Enhanced Detection and Remediation
  • Performance enhancements

Just a suggestion, but perhaps @AdvancedSetup or one of the other Malwarebytes employees could ask to have the following comment about notifications for scheduled scans deleted from the Malwarebytes support article Set up scheduled scans in Malwarebytes for Windows, since that information seems to be out-of-date.
