ORADigital Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534426 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Same here, I keep adding the sites to my exclusion list, but we should not need to do this, Malwarebytes, we need a fix ASAP

Yes, I had restarted, but it still did not fix it. There was just another update, package version 1.0.60360. This appears to work. For now, anyway. Other posts seem to imply it's not a complete fix, though.

ChrisPedley Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534450 Share Posted September 21, 2022 As of 12:12 PM EST I can confirm after a reboot then turning Web Protection back on it is no longer blocking google sites for me. I am running the version listed above Update Package 1.0.60360.

Home machine with consumer level install self-resolved already. Nebula clients are still hosed & my Nebula console still slow/crashes.

The problem is far more general, as it's blocking legitimate URLs, not just the ad-related or tracking-related ones. I run uBlock Origin, and it was blocking everything related to Google, and as others have reported, other sites as well. Major, major mess up on Malwarebytes. As I noted, package version 1.0.60360 appears to fix the problem for now.
Lillian Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534461 Share Posted September 21, 2022 After the update it looks fine .. at least for now . Thanks Malwarebytes Team for the quick update 😀
Brigg Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534462 Share Posted September 21, 2022 i also had to relaunch and manually do update and it installed an update. Try doing the reinstall with the support tool. then check for updates. thats what ended up working for me
JarrodD Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534465 Share Posted September 21, 2022 I am receiving the same notifications. I actually should have checked the forum first instead of doing a complete wipe and reinstall on my pc.

Mikeman72 Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534475 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Yes I realize that there are already many messages for all things google being blocked. But I wanted to share my story. To report a false positive, I needed to create an account here on the Malwarebytes Forum. Ok, no problem. Set up an account. And of course, it sends a validation email. Ok, check my email. Oh wait, google is blocked. Can't get to my gmail account. Anyway, found a work around and here I am. This is ridiculous. Google of all things. ShadowMario3 Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534485 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Was confused when I saw Malwarebytes blocking google on both the Windows mail app and Discord. Latest definition update seems to have fixed the issue.

valkyriebiker Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534487 Share Posted September 21, 2022 I.T. guy here. I have to say, this is another disappointment from MWB. I recall at least two previous instances, both within the last 2-3 years, where buggy MWB code affected *all* my clients that use MWB. At least MWB identified and fixed this pretty quickly.
