KeithJ Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534277 Share Posted September 21, 2022 I was having this issue as well this morning. I opened MWB and checked for updates. There was one so I downloaded and installed it and the issue seems to have resolved itself. I am now on Premium 4.5.
Val Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534278 Share Posted September 21, 2022 same problem. I can't even uninstall the MWB program. Never happened....ever....until now.
yaered Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534279 Share Posted September 21, 2022 if i had to guess, malwarebytes issue.
Oxygn Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534281 Share Posted September 21, 2022 I'm "relieve' that its not just an issue with my computer but it's more of a malwarebyte issue? I'm still getting it
Josh85615 Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534285 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Not sure if this is a fluke but I manually clicked on Check for Updates in MB and it installed on real quick and now it seems to be okay to use Edge.
Tousey Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534286 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Is it wise to disable it? What if an attack of some kind is coming in through Google?
GPCamies Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534287 Share Posted September 21, 2022 somebody pressed a wrong key somewhere, malwarebytes has gone and blocked the whole of google, thats quite something, lets hope they pick up the phone and talk, and discuss what the hell's going on. TheGamingDefinition Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534289 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Can confirm the same has been happening to me. Was panicking thinking I'd gotten a virus on both of my work PCs. Glad to see it's just a silly error, crisis averted lol.
ylb_WebTeam Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534292 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Sorry. It looks like they were trying to access their site from Google or something and got this message.
Oxygn Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534293 Share Posted September 21, 2022 What i found that helped was to completely just close malwarebytes temporarily since this is not our computer issue but malwarebytes
ColdButterChicken Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534294 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Malwarebytes started blocking google and all sites attached to it. Searching with google or any sites on google will tend to lead to a 404 error. Placing Google/files/chrome.exe in the allow list does not work. Malwarebytes continues to block and prevent me from using Google. If anyone is looking for a quick fix while the main issue is being adressed I have dissabled "Web protection" under real time protection.
jschoppert Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534298 Share Posted September 21, 2022 The only work around I could find that would work completely is shut off all protection in Malwarebytes Premium and in Nebula if you can get to your policies disable everything under "Real-Time Protection" temporarily. THoff Posted September 21, 2022 ID:1534300 Share Posted September 21, 2022 The big question is: Is it safe to turn off Web Protection, or is that the 2nd shoe?
