So my friend sent me a video of his computer and the problem, he has had the virus for a couple of weeks (2 weeks) now and nothing has worked, he starts up the computer (its a republic of gamers laptop) and the keyboard begins to light up, but after that he has a black screen, no startup, nothing but black the whole time, also when ever he shuts it off, it makes a beeping sound that wasn't on the original computer, any help to fix this problem is appreciated.

Hello @GoldcatDrewThis and :welcome::

Please see if your friend's computer is able to start in another mode other than normal. E.G. Safe Mode, etc.

Assuming Windows 10: Find safe mode and other startup settings in Windows 10

If other startup modes are not possible, your helper might suggest a recovery mode or booting from an external source. CD/DVD/USB, etc. Has your friend made any full system backups from the computer in question?

Then, while you are waiting for the next qualified/approved malware removal expert helper to weigh in on your topic, please do the following so that an analysis can be started and see what's going on.

The Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) is a free Windows utility designed to create troubleshooting logs for your computer. These logs help our Support team to identify and resolve issues with your computer.
