so I was wondering whats my mc playtime is so i found this program from github and used it and got my playtime and then deleted the program. So then i was curious what i downloaded and put the exe into virustotal and 2 things scanned it as trojan virus and the creator claims that it doesnt have virus and its a false positive because something here is the reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/a9jhbe/i_made_a_program_that_calculates_your_total_mc/. So i was wondering if this is actually a trojan or not just to be safe (I scanned with malwarebytes and avast and they didnt detect anything) Thanks! Mallikainen

With so few vendors and not very mainstream ones detecting this,  it is a good chance it is a FP.

I also thinks its a false positive because a well known youtuber phoenix sc used this program

i know it doesnt guarantee its safety but yes if there is something i can do to confirm that its a false positive please tell, also it had a pyw file download and i used it on virustotal also and it didnt detect anything

You said Avast and Malwarebytes said it was clean. I also checked Windows Defender and it was clean.

If you trust the source,yes. If not just do not use it.

I ran it but since I do not play Minecraft it is no use to me.

It is portable it does not install anything just delete the exe.

Are you 100% sure that if its a virus you only need to delete the exe for it to be completely gone?

It is not a virus, I ran it on my system and still OK. And yes just delete the file.

But Last question how can you know if its a virus or not. I know that some viruses are sneaky and dont make a impact on performance or anything

Could this be associated with the Log4shell software flaw? I read that Minecraft log analyser was impacted by this flaw and has issued an update.
