does MB3 turn off Defender in Creator?

Am I reading this correctly?. See attached.

 

It seems that in Win10 Creator, Windows sees MB3 and decides that this AV is all that is being used?  MB regularly states it is not a substitute for AV?

In Settings -> Application you can change the following options to Never register and Defender will not disable.

Yes, that worked fine.

The directory/folder structure for MB3 x64 is different from MB2.  Is is necessary to put any MB3 files into Defender Exclusions?

Personally I add the below exclusions to Defender.

Folder exclusions. The Malwarebytes folder in Program Files and the folder in Program Data (Hidden Folder)

File exclusions I add.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMChameleon.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\MBAMSwissArmy.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys
C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\farflt.sys

I  copy and paste the below in Process exclusions.

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe
