Montiera.com

Recommended Posts

I have been using free version of malwarebytes but had to update and chose the trial for premium. When I open firefox, and only firefox, malware bytes is stopping cnfg.montiera.com and ssl-cnfg.montiera.com from running but when I do a scan it doesn't find anything.

I have tried microsoft security essentials, microsoft emergency response tool, and SuperAnti Spyware. None of which has found anything called montiera or any other name I have found through searches related to montiera. I did search through registry and found babylon which I saw was related to montiera and removed those entries but it still tries to launch when I open firefox.

Since it is the premium version stopping it from running and I won;t have that two weeks from now I would really love to get this off my PC. Anyone know anything about this and can help?

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll try to help your with your issue.

Before we start please read and note the following:

  • We're primarily oriented on malware removal here, so you must know that some issues just cannot be solved and you must be prepared for this. Some tools we use here will remove your browser search history, so backup your important links and all the files whose loss is unacceptable.
  • Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
  • Please be patient. I know it is frustrating when your PC isn't working properly, but malware removal takes time. Keep in mind that private life gets in the way too. Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
  • Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
  • Do not paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work easier. There is a More reply options button, that gives you Upload Files option below which you can use to attach your reports. Always attach reports from all tools.
  • Always execute my instructions in given order. If for some reason you cannot completely follow one instruction, inform me about that.
  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.
:excl: I can't foresee everything, so if anything not covered in my instructions happens, please stop and inform me!

:excl: There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!

That being told, if any evidence of illegal OS, software, cracks/keygens or any other will be revealed, any further assistance will be suspended. If you are aware that there is this kind of stuff on your machine, remove it before proceeding!

The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.

Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

Just started up firefox 10 times in a row and no pop up from malwarebytes, and it doesn't appear in 'add to web exclusions' when right clicking the malwarebytes icon at the moment. So maybe it's gone.

Thank you TwinHeadedEagle for the assistance. I think I will give it a day and see what happens and if I don't see it again then I will buy you a beer or two. EIther that or I will be here crying again :P

Every game Ive tried so far which is most of my steam library. Arma 3, AA Proving Grounds, BF3, Borderlands2, Dying Light, Evolve, Killing Floor 2, Mad Max, Rising Storm/Red Orchestra, Rocket League and a few others. Haven't opened one yet that isn't doing it. I see the HD light blinking when it happens alot of times but it always does when playing anyway so I dunno.

They freeze for a split second every second or two, at opening screens, at main menu, during loading, during gameplay. I played a couple of games while still infected (took a break from trying to solve it on my own) and they ran the same as usual. After solving the issue this new problem started. At first I thought it was just Mad Max doing it since it doesn't run great anyway (doesn't for most people PC and console) but when trying others the same thing happened, so I started checking the rest.

I was about to format my HD but damn what a pain. As far as if it actually was something done during fixing I don't know, just frustrated.

FPS stays the same, no drops, music keeps playing with no stutter.

No, that went away, and hasn't been back. Only thing being picked up are tracking cookies when I use chrome.

I wish I had used system restore when I saw them available but it was late for me. All I did was deactivate internet connection and put the PC on low power mode which I have set turn of monitors and sleep. No idea why those went away except to aggrevate me more.

Tried reverting nvidia drivers in case I had just missed the games that were stuttering after the update (some do work it seems) but no go there. Have checked voltages, memory, HD seems ok. I dunno what the heck is going on. Maybe if I reset my bios to original state I dunno. I don't wanna re-install windows and just end up having the same issue.

When watching my video cards clock while running a game I did see it zig zagging up and down a short amount coinciding with the stutter. I've never seen it do that before when watching it. It's usually a straight line. Inside of my case is fairly clean, temps are all ok.
