How long are you giving the update to complete? It does take some extra time on first install.

I am sorry you feel the the way you do. The seller on amazon was not an authorized seller of malwarebytes. The proper keys would look like this ID xxxxx-xxxxx Key xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx Note the 2 sets of 5 characters. Just because it came from Amazon does not make it a legit key. That is what the amnesty program is for. To make legal all those bogus paid for"in good faith keys" that were purchased by unsuspecting customers. Please save the new key as instructed since there is no way to pull the key off a DEAD machine if yours crashes. Does that explain things more clearly?

I am going to speak as a regular home user. THE FREE VERSION has NEVER had those functions. It will only scan when YOU open the program Clean when YOU tell it to. When YOU don't do any thing to it it does not do ANYTHING. If you are talking about the TRIAL or PAID version please be more clear instead of just ranting.

Hello, Malwarebytes IS ONE of the scans. MBAM has some false positives just like any other program. So I do not get why my very good suggestion gets so much flack. If you only knew all the files that MBAM does not target you would see the need for this. I always scan every newly downloaded file with Virus Total . You contradict your self. IT is NOT an av and does not scan files in any way like any antivirus. Actually everyone should research MBAM and learn WHAT and HOW is DESIGNED to operate before complaining. ANYTIME it does a scan the DATABASE (over 20mb) has to BE FULLY LOADED (ie pre-scan) in to MEMORY. It uses that same database to scan one file or your WHOLE computer. I hope you know have a FULL understanding how MBAM works. This is the second time I have gotten this negative response so I am also done with this topic as well.

OK, When everyone that wants the software has paid their lifetime payment. Who pays ongoing costs of the program. Hosting fees for updates. Researchers to actually keep the program updated. What good is a program that does not have anywhere to get updates from or people to create those updates. Do you see any adware toolbars or other monetizing items getting installed with the program? Does the FREE version prompt you to purchase BEFORE it cleans your computer like most other programs.

If I remember correctly, The delay is because the program needs to load the entire database in to memory before it scans. There are much more effeciant ways to scan SINGLE files. I use this. The new keys do not require the ID it is the new format of future keys sold. Just make sure to write down and keep it in a safe place.

Appears like malwarebytes is part of their "support" package. They are probably not a authorized reseller. I don't know if you can dispute the charge this late after purchase and get your money back but I would do EVERYTHING in your power to try.
