  1. I cannot help with the attempts to duplicate the problem . I cannot afford the downtime. What I can do is list my system hardware and main programs to provide info for common conflicts: Windows 7 Home Premium/64 Corsair CX750M Power Supply Intel I7-4771 LGA1150 CPU Memory 16gb Gskill F-31600c9D-16XMR Gigabyte GA-Z97x-UD5H Mother Board (Revision 1.0) Fractal Design Define R4 with Window Black Pearl Case 3 Case Fans F&R Powered Directly by PSU Sata Port 0 - Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256GB (operating system SSD) (6GBS)- Sata Port 1 - Exterior Slot for 2 1/2" HDD or SSD Sata Port 2 - Western Digital 4TB -WD4004FZWX-00GBG0 (media) Sata Port 3 - Western Digital 4TB -WD4004FZWX-00GBG (Back up) Sata Port 4 - Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256GB (clone of C drive) Sata Port 5 - Samsung SSD 840 120GB-(Documents) with bitlocker Gport 6 - Western Digital 6TB- WD6001FZWX add'l backups- Usually turned of from BIOS Gport 7 - LG WH12LS39 BluRay DVD CD R/W (1.5GBS) PCI: Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (PCI-E x 1 ) Third Slot ASUS Wifi/Bluetooth Adapter (PCI-E x1) First slot UGREEN SD Card Reader (USB3.0 Connected) Regularly Used Programs: Avast 18.8.2356 (build 18.8.4084.409) VLC Media Player Pot Player MS Office 2007 Mozzila Firefox Adobe Flash Adobe Reader
  2. I had other problems after using Support Tool and I uninstalled from safe mode was the only way I could do it.
  3. There is no BSOD. Just what amounts to a screenshot just before the freeze. No mouse,no keyboard,no ctrl/alt/del. Then only choice is hard reboot.
  4. I cannot participate in log sharing as I have uninstalled MWB . My PC was useless with it. Sorry.
  5. How do you account for all the unreported who think there is "something wrong with their PC" ?
  6. FYI As near as I can tell this freezing issue has been affecting my W7 machine for the past 2 or 3 weeks. In all that time my W10 machine (which has MWB installed) has not been affected.
  7. Mkaz, I wholeheartedly agree with communication problem. They could send out email saying they are having some reports of (this or that) on our W7 Customers . If you are experiencing this issue do (this or that) as a temporary solution until we resolve. That way guys like me who had a clone of my drive C that was a few weeks old, loads the clone as OS only to find the problem is still there. The only reason I checked the Forum was that I had a faint recollection of something happening similar to this a year or so ago. Yes , I really feel bad for those who reformatted the system and now they have to reinstall all their programs and may have lost something important they were working on. Robert-, I don't like sounding pessimistic, but I had the same version and I went as long as a week with no freeze, and then to my disappointment it started freezing again, Sometimes multiple times a day and sometimes every couple of days. Finally a few days ago I uninstalled MWB. Waiting for the "fix".
  8. Well thanks for your insight into the matter. You have renewed my patience for now.
  9. If i was a betting man i would wager that the Techs who are capable of fixing this are on Holiday Vacation. If this is so, they better get back soon and fix this. My renewal of MWB is due Jan 20 and I am seriously considering ending my account . I had to uninstall my MWB because i tried to use their repair tool and it screwed of my PC (could not get to mt Desktop). I ended up uninstalling from Safe Mode just to get my PC working again. I have not had a lock up (freeze) since then.
  10. I am having the same problem . I am W7/64. Most of the posts I have read on this issue are W7.
  11. Hello Darkdirk Just put a ticket in with MWB support expressing similar sentiments. Looking forward to the response.
  12. Hello Arbrich, Thanks for the info. Please let us know if your test system has any future freezes. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I have gone a week with no problems but PC eventually froze me out. Starting today I will quit MWB except for when I am doing web surfing unknown sites.
  13. Hello TempLost, Good for you not experiencing this "Bug". I went as long as a week PC on full time no problems. Thought it was not affecting me, but alas it did.The random nature of this thing is insidious. Continued good luck with this Bug not affecting you
  14. I thought the issue was solved but last night I had my first freeze in a week (while I was sleeping.) I have had this happen randomly over the past couple of weeks. I am told the MWB Staff is working on it. Most of my freeze issues have been when PC was idle. Your issues happened when doing specific tasks. That might be good information for MWB Staff to have.
  15. I thought the issue of freezing was fixed. Hadn't had a freeze in a week until last night . I Had to hard reboot.
  16. There are many topics referring to this hard freeze issue. Put "freezing" as a search term and you can look through most of them. Last I heard was that Tech Support was working on it. I have not experienced the issue for 2 or three days now. Due to the random behavior of this freezing issue I do not consider myself out of the woods . The action I took was placing these files in my Avast AV exclusions (to prevent conflict between MWB and AV) : C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MbamPt.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\assistant.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMWsc.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\mbamtray.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\MBAMService.exe C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mwac.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamchameleon.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\farflt.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbae64.sys Many people have been saying that turning off Real Time Protection will help in getting less freezes until Tech Support can resolve this. I have chosen not to do that.I will report any future freezing of my PC
  17. If that"s the case I guess I'll give it a try but not while its beta. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for the info. This beta version for Firefox add on: Accesses your data for all websites downloads files and reads the browsers download history access browser tabs store unlimited amount of client-side data This is a bit more privacy than I am willing to give up. I understand its a beta version and they need as much data as possible to build it. Maybe it will be less intrusive if and when its gets past the Beta version. In the meantime I have been taking my chances (freeze-wise) with full MWB (incl Real Time and Ransomware). No freezes in 15 hours.(I had longer stretches than that so I am not assured by this fact). Hope they can resolve soon.
  19. Porthos Thanks for the link to the exclusion list. I have put them all in my Avast exclusions.
  20. Does anyone know if this is reported to MWB staff ? I do not see any of their staff on this topic.
  21. I and many others are experiencing this "Hard Freeze" issue . I am not running MSE so no conflict there. Put in search term "freeze" and you will find many others with the issue. Many of them are IT Professionals that have multiple clients reporting this issue. It seems to be happening mostly on W7 OS, although I have seen some saying they are W10.
  22. Hey CORE(new member) and all of you having clients complain of this hard freeze. I have the same issue (W-7 64). It happened about 6 days ago and figured I had a corrupt file or something in the OS. I booted up a clone of my C drive that was about 2 weeks old. The problem stopped so i was happy until now (about 6 days later) and another hard freeze. I hard power rebooted and worked for 15 minutes and it froze again. Now I am up for about a half hour. What to do now ? I came to this forum and at least I know I am not alone. Hope this gets resolved and for good.
  23. I just noticed my question was answered on above post. Thanks
