Update: I'm now running VIPRE a/v. (the regular version) With MBAM real-time enabled, MBAMservice uses a lot of CPU cycles, so there seems to be some kind of conflict between VIPRE active protection and MBAM real-time protection. (yes, I did the exclusions in VIPRE, and it seems we can't exlude processes in MBAM) So it seems I have the choice of running only one of them in real-time, and the other on-demand... Which one should I keep as the real-time scanner? And which one should be "patched" to run well with the other?... TIA, Fran

I'm only getting the protection log..?
Francois_Blais replied to easy2putt's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thanks Sam. It indeed did the trick. I got back the complete mbam-log this morning. Hopefully the people on the help desk are informed of the issue and give more up-to-date advices. Best regards, Fran -
I'm only getting the protection log..?
Francois_Blais replied to easy2putt's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I have the same problem. I wrote to the help desk, but they only suggested to uninstall and reinstall. I'll try this first: I'll report back. Do the people on the help desk read this forum? The first time I had a problem, a few months ago, they directed me here. This time, the answer seems to show the person wasn't aware of what's being discussed here. I can't say I'm satisfied with the help coming from the help desk, with all due respect. Regards, Fran -
Fixed, thanks!

New Version of Avast has impacted mbam
Francois_Blais replied to Russell C's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I suggest you browse the AVAST forum. There have been several threads about the problems between AVAST 5 and MBAM real-time. I started a thread myself here about that earlier this year. -
Another memory usage issue?
Francois_Blais replied to Francois_Blais's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
When I went home tonight, it was still at 51MB. It fell down at 41MB a little while afterwards. Thanks. -
Hi. We've had memory issues with 1.43, as some will recall. My MBAMSERVICE usually takes about 41MB RAM. This morning it was at 51MB and didn't go back to 41MB, even after an hour. Is there some problem with a database update? (forgot to check which one I have but I update every morning at 2:30) Regards, Fran

Mbam/Avast conflict?
Francois_Blais replied to DCross's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
However I suggest the OP reports it as a false positive so AVAST removes it from their database. -
I suggest you get the Avira rescue CD here: http://dlpro.antivir.com/package/rescue_sy...m-common-en.iso You need to burn it onto a CD and boot from it. I suggest you download and burn the ISO image from another, clean, computer. Good luck!

Problem with AVAST 5 (free)
Francois_Blais replied to Francois_Blais's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
MBAM runs perfectly well with Avira on my machine. -
Thanks. I did contact Support in the past but was redirected here in most cases, so it seems simpler to come here directly. My AV is in fact Avira, and I don't have any problems with MBAM. I tried AVAST 5 since I liked 4.8, but since it doesn't work with MBAM real-time on my machine, I'm waiting to give it another shot. Best regards, Fran

Good for you, but still buggy here. -

Not here. Seems to still be in conflict with MBAM real-time. -
Problem with AVAST 5 (free)

It was noticably slowing down my old P3-1000 when I tried it. Avira works perfectly on it. (there's a free version too) -
Problem with AVAST 5 (free)
Francois_Blais replied to Francois_Blais's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Before I install AVAST 5 to try it, I was running Avira and got very *few* FPs. Did you setup it with maximum heuristic sensitivity? I use the regular level and get FPs extremely rarely. -
Hi. Running XP Pro SP3 and the paid version of MBAM. I was not able to install AVAST 5, so I did some search on the AVAST forum. It appeared many of us (with the same problem) were running MBAM real-time. I unticked the option to get MBAM run at starup and rebooted. Now I was able to install AVAST 5! Anyone else with he same problem? Best regards, Fran

Has this been talked about?
Francois_Blais replied to Supernovasky's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
I vote for the addition of a "Priority setting" control. For the nightly daily quick scan, I'd set it at HIGH, but if I run a complete scan during the day, I'd like to set it at the LOWEST possible level. Thanks. -
This is not obvious. I thought this would launch the search, actually. I'm with the OP on this issue. What about replacing the string Start scanner with Show Main Screen then ? Best regards, Fran

618K Memory used as Process...
Francois_Blais replied to Kernel Krumpet's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
The beta was working perfectly when I got home. The memory consumption remained stable all day. Do we need to download the install program? Or is the released version exactly the same as the beta we tested? Thanks al! Best regards, Fran -

I also installed the 1.44 beta this morning and it seemed stable at around 44MB! Will check it tonight when I'm back home. Thanks for the quick turnaround guys! Best regards, Fran
