  1. It's a customer's machine, so that is all they want and plus they are running Windows XP. Trust me if it was my machine, then I would have atleast 3GB.
  2. Thanks a bunch Sam for looking that up. Can't beat free shipping because that is usually about half the cost! Also, thanks Ron for the memory test!
  3. I know it's definately failing because I just got a STOP error on it and I looked up the code and it said it was a RAM related error. What are some good and trusted sites to get a 1GB stick of ram for a Dell Latitude D430?
  4. Results from Windows Memory Diagnostics: Failed MATS+ test Failed Stride6 Test Failed WMATS+ Test Failed WINVC Test So it failed 4 of 6 tests. I'm guessing this means time for some new RAM, correct?
  5. I'm deleting the partition, and then allowing the installer to format and create a new one. Another thijng that I have noticed, is that before you reboot and it stops working, a message pops up on the startup saying that a program or something caused an issue, so Windows replaced a registry hive. I don't know what might be replacing it since they are fresh installs.
  6. That is actually the article that I went to first. I replaced all the files and everything, and then when it booted up, the registry was all messed up so I just went ahead and reformatted. What are some good, free RAM testing tools?
  7. Ok, so I am working on this one laptop that has Windows XP. When I originally got it, it was having the "Windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \Windows\System32\Config\System." So I then reformatted the machine and got everything running again. So I shut it down, and then turn it back on again and then bang, same message. So I thought ok, freaky coincidence, and so I reformatted again. However, this will be the third time that this error has come up after 2 reformats! What on earth could cause this to happen 3 times in a row and survive 2 reformats?
  8. Your welcome, I just don't understand why some people are just so stubborn that they will not wear it when it could save their life.
  9. Topic can be found here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=71726
  10. Here is a video that I came across recently about the importance of wearing seatbelts. It is very touching. Please everyone, always wear it, it could save your life.
  11. EDIT: Seatbelt video that I was going to post here was so important, I thought I would give it its own topic.
  12. I've used DriverMax a couple of times and everything has worked fine for me. You just have to make sure that you only download and install the drivers that are Digitally Signed by the makers.
  13. Merry Christmas to everyone!
  14. kellyj994, Welcome! It's nice to have you.
  15. Internet Explorer definately surpasses Firefox in malware block rates. The last time I checked, I think that Internet Explorer blocked around 85% of malware, while Firefox only blocked around 30% I think.
  16. Maybe you could do some yardwork or chores for your parents or a family member, and they could pay you for your effort.
  17. If your running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, I highly recommend that you try the IE9.
  18. I think that anyone that has Kaspersky can sleep well at night !
  19. What I am thinking is that the addon did not fully uninstall. Does this file show up when you browse to that location via Windows Explorer?
  20. I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, Malwarebytes, and then IE9.
  21. This brought a smile to my face
  22. I have to agree with the author. I think it will be between Chrome and IE9. To me, Mozilla is just going downhill.
  23. Thank you to everybody who has served our country!
