  1. Chrome thinks its better for you to see their weird little blob icon rather than what it represents.  Click that (in the upper right corner of your browser) and enable Browser Guard to appear. You can then see the Malwarebytes icon.  Click it to open the Browser Guard interface.

I have fixed canadiantire.ca so that you can see reviews.  PLEASE ALLOW 15-30 MINUTES FOR CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT.  Changes I made are effective only for that site.  If you see other sites with the same issue, please let us know, as I cannot make changes without verification of both the issue and the appropriateness of the change being requested.

  2. No problem.  I just heard back from the developer.  Your download manager and Browser Guard are both trying to use the same browser API to assure that no "funny business" is happening when you are trying to download a file.  The API in use is the most appropriate one for this purpose.  Unfortunately, only one extension can have a listener attached to that API at any given time.  As an outsider, I don't think that trying to configure primary/secondary access to the API would be viable.  All vendors would want primary access, and we would be back where we started from.

  3. When logging into the site, I had a suspicion as to what the block was.  I received a request to allow notifications.  I usually block those because they are intrusive.  I allowed notifications.  Then, I received another notification about something else.  Grrr!  I accepted it, but that seemed to be the end of it.  I scrolled around some, but encountered no block.  I refreshed the page.  BINGO!  I was blocked immediately for excessive notification requests.

I whitelisted the site after confirming there were no threats.  We block these because too many notifications is a tactic of tech support scams, which try to scare users into actions that benefit the scammers.  Once browser vendors start to block these, you will have no choice but to tone down notifications that you direct to users via the browser API.

Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect.

  4. The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Glad to see your website is online.  I spend a lot of time doing genealogy, and sites like yours are a goldmine for researchers.  Thank you!

  5. I am assuming you attempted to provide a printscreen of the "postmark," but it is a blank page.  If you read our block message, you will see the name of the site that is being blocked and the reason why it was blocked.  The reason indicates that the offending site was causing too much chatter between the browser API and the user, which is often indicative of an infected site attempting to make the user behave in a certain way.  Because it is poor coding practice and possibly suspicious, we blocked it. Inspecting further, while the site has no relevance to a commercial site offering bedding for children, I cannot block the "postmark" without reason to do so.

The blocked site has been whitelisted.  Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect.

  6. I can get to either one of the named websites without encountering any problems.

Accessing http://31.7.2.113 shows me that access to the server's root directory (could be used for exploitation) is possible, but you have disabled directory displays (not a problem).

Attempts to access https://31.7.2.113 are met with an error message which indicates that you do not have a valid certificate, and I am offered the option to fall back to http access or abandon efforts (problem if you are a commercial site UNLESS each named site has its own certificate when accessing them directly).

  7. If you reinstalled the blocker and checked access to ctrlpromo.com IMMEDIATELY, you would still have been blocked because you did not give databases a chance to receive updates. Installing Browser Guard loads it with databases that were current AS OF THE RELEASE DATE OF THE BROWSER GUARD VERSION.  If this is the case, try again.

Otherwise, go to Browser Guard's SUPPORT tab and click CHECK FOR UPDATES, then allow that time for database updates to occur. That should happen within a few seconds.  I am on your site right now, and it is not blocked.
