  1. Do you have the 64-BIT verison of XP? I am asking becuase SP2 stopped being supported nearly two years ago now, which opens your machine up to much vulnerability and infection. Avast! would be a runner-up to MSE in my opinion, give it a whirl! I've never used Bit-Defender personally so I cannot comment on it.
  2. Hello Marc7 and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Malwarebytes should not be run alone; it is designed to run along-side an anti-virus software. Malwarebytes is an anti-malware program, and while it does get some viruses, it is not an anti-virus program. As for SpyBot, if you have Malwarebytes, there is no need to have SpyBot as well. Unfortunately SpyBot is kind of a resource-heavy program and Malwarebytes basically gets everything that SpyBot gets and more. My personal recommendations for an antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials for a free antivirus, and Kaspersky for a paid antivirus. Also, while Malwarebytes works well with most antivirus programs, it is adviseable to add exclusions for Mbam in the antivirus and for the antivirus in Mbam, to minimize any potential conflicts (which again, are uncommon but can happen). Tutorials for doing so may be found here. Please don't hesitate to post again should you have any further questions or concerns. Happy computing!
  3. I cannot speak for Malwarebytes and their plans on this matter or not, but there is a website dedicated to helping this cause: http://www.longurl.org/
  4. Me too, I prefer regular books. However it would be handy if travelling for a long period of time and for Netflix/Hulu/etc.... reader + tablet is cool
  5. Ah if only I had the money, I'd snap one up! Looks like there is only one at the moment though!

  8. Upgraded on the 25th. SO does not like it but I told him we had to update... he might want to de-grade back down and I told him if he does no using FX to buy anything & it makes the computer more vulnerable... of course we have good protection though & keep all plugins up to date I'm going to try to not down grade though... Maybe a little silly, but, I took a screenshot of the old layout before upgrading... hehe.
  9. I use MSE with Mbam paid, a hefty HOSTS file, and I keep all plugins and programs updated, and surf safely, of course. To date, I've never had a problem. I also (primarily) use Opera.
  10. I used to get a lot of spam in my Hotmail, but not so much anymore, not sure why. I have my filter set to anyone NOT in my contacts list go to the Spam folder and I check it quickly to see if there is anything that I want or that shouldn't be there, then delete the rest.
  11. You're most welcome! Oh sure, I'll check them out, thanks!
  12. No, not yet but thank you for reminding me about FX... I need to update our FX at home... it is the most up to date 3.5.X or is it 3.6.X version and will soon not be updated... boo I may try the beta, but I am not online as much anymore so I don't have much time to do any testing lately unfortunately.
