Yes I did to tried that in the safe mode as well and the folder is still locked even though I was using the safe mode and some software are not working in safe mode just like lockHunter and other program as well. OK then I’m going to try Kaspersky Rescue disk to see how it goes then I will try other live CD. EDIT : I will do this after others tasks are done . thanks

sure I’ve already tried it so many time but however when I have to copy then paste this folder somewhere else then the windows is throws out so many different error’s messages for the folder locked /permissions issue/or hard disk permissions or even a locked problem as lockHunter is also report that hard disk is locked out by another Microsoft processes . while I also have to use "Send to Desktop (create Shortcut)" but even this folder has the same issue . I’ve done so many SFC / SCANNOW and CHKDSK CMD and the problem is still haven’t been fixed yet . even though this is the first time I’ve got such a problem on Windows 10 !❌ on my others Windows XP and 7 devices I’ve never seen of such issue so look like Windows 10 is a full of the bugs since sfc scan is reports a corruption (even my device yet again has a Compatibility/faulty drivers issues with the HP drivers and windows 10 version1903 but HP have to release a new audio driver (for windows 1903) for my device make and model almost since a 3 days) although I will go back to earlier release of the windows 10 version 1803 which is seems to be the only best version for my device (since I can to see all HP’S software and drivers installed on there "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features") once again I had right now to run another chkdsk on the external hard disk and I’m going to run another one for My device’s hard drive (C) . all others folders and files were moved successfully to a safe places expect this one which is called RemoveJave . still Googling of this problem and still no any luck

I’ve go with this but still not fix it even by creating a new user account unfortunately . anyway I still Googling this problem and I have now a tool called "lockHunter"and it report the cause of this problem and why this folder got locked-up is because the Microsoft’s Explorer.exe

this is not working either , more then 3 errors messages are pops up when I want to move out this folder to my desktop . that folder is contains of PNG files and FBM files and I can not to open any of them . It looks like you don't have permission to view this file. I have to download the reg.file and the Take ownership option have been add to the context menu and right click on that folder and I see the commend prompt to doing its task but this unfortunately have not correct the problem I have almost the same errors messages here from this link

a folder with all its contents called "RemoveJava" on an external TOSHIBA hard disk won’t let me to move it to my device’s desktop , an padlock is appear on all of my files within that folder . right click on that folder and then go to Properties and I’ve check all setting on each tabs and they have been changed by something and its not by me . this is an external TOSHIBA hard disk have been offline since a long time and I’ve just have it connected to my device to in order continued to cleaning all storage media . this TOSHIBA hard disk is almost a 3 year old since I bought it . and I have no idea to how I fix the permission issue for RemoveJava folder

Hello @LiquidTension yes this is correct as in your reply . but how do I know if this is in your MB web protection database or not ! I’m not sure but an question here . does each components has its own database ? thanks

@exile360 MY OS here is windows 10 using the Firefox web browser with MB browser add-on . and for me the two links for the PUP above isn’t blocked by both MB software or MB add-on on my windows 10 (file is only blocked by the add-on and not by Malwarebytes software) , I’m sure and I have this problem before with MB programv3 with previous /earlier version of windows 10 (1809) and I’ve just check again with the 2 URLS and they still not blocked either by Malwarebytes or even by the extension . so I think this has not really been fixed yet and the problem or the issue is with the web protection module in the Malwarebytes . I have test this with other reported URLS to me through a gaming website also , been using windows security side-by-side with MB3 and Zemana anti-malware premium . Yes I got the block on the executable file as in your screenshot which it show that "the downloadable file which have been blocked" but "not the PUP site itself" , however when Malwarebytes have to detect something as a PUP software then the real-time web protection should to block the PUP’s its own website not just the "PUP software" here . and yes I know a new websites /leading webpage are to be created everyday and thank to MB team for their hardworking if the file was not been seen and to be a newly created then why the virustotal has shows a detection for this file which is by "Malwarebytes" but not to shows any detection for the PUP URL by all others vendors as well ! sure! I will report this if both of the PUP and the website have not been seen by the MB scanner .

I’ve update my Firefox from v 67 to 68 and now one of the extension is not work since this update of the Firefox . remove that add-on have not fix the issue . all other extensions are working OK .

I’m not sure if SmartScareen has something to do with caching because I’ve been seen some entries in the frst log for this . and I have now to install MBv3 without smart screen is to pop-ups . this issue is now fixed with the help of @AlexSmith so thank to you ! good to know this information about the false flagging by smart screen . and thanks also to you @Maurice Naggar for helpful information .

this also happened on windows 10 version 1803 and it still happening on both windows version 1809 and windows version1903 . not sure what is this about but my internet connection is OK here >SmartScreen can’t be reached right now Check your internet connection. Windows Dedender SmartScreen is unreachable and can’t help you decide if this app is ok to run. Publisher: Malwarebytes Corporation App: mb3-setup-consumer-3.8.3.2965-1.0.613-1.0.11384 Windows security is also blocking other app from running not just MBv3 .

I’ve just done to do a clean-re-install of both FIREFOX and Cliqz web browser using more then one tools and using a regedit to removing leftovers . however the download is still blocked at this moment ! none of HP’s websites are blocked as I can see but an block on this HP cloud recovery tool and if this will help . I’ve upgrade to windows 1903 as of yesterday .
