  1. I see a lot of posts about Malwarebytes 3 causing Windows 7 to become unresponsive. I want to join those reporting this problem on Windows 10 as well. In recent months, I noticed my laptop feeling sluggish, occasionally becoming unresponsive for > 10 seconds. I blamed Windows and soldiered on. In December 2018, Chrome suddenly became unusable with every control and website freezing for 20 seconds or more before finally responding. I went through recommended troubleshooting steps all the way up to complete reset/reinstall. Nothing helped. Edge and Firefox were usually responsive, but not entirely free of this issue. Checked system performance/resources, network speed, etc. No obvious issues found. Then, I tried turning off Malwarebytes Real Time Protection. Not only Chrome, but all apps and Windows 10 itself immediately become snappy and responsive again. After more testing, I discovered Malware protection is the problem layer. I can leave all other Real-Time protection layers on and have excellent response time as long as Malware protection remains off. Until recent months, I had all Real-Time protection layers on since version 3 was released with little or no significant sluggishness. Freezing was evident in multiple apps. I noticed it first in apps such as Chrome, Firefox and Clatter because I use them a lot. Chrome was by far the worst, with all websites and app controls being consistently unresponsive for long periods. Surprisingly, even though it's frequently used and my default browser, Edge was least impacted by this issue (after being the problem child in previous years). Information below is probably included in the logs, but I'm adding it here so others can easily see/compare to their own configurations: This PC is not running any other malware solutions other than Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes Premium version: 3.6.1.2711; component package: 1.0.508; update package: 1.0.8698 Windows 10 1809 (build 17763.195) Device: HP Spectre x360 i7, 16GB RAM, storage: 476 GB SSD (286 GB free) Chrome version 71.0.3578.98 (64-bit) mbst-grab-results.zip
  2. Hi the NEWEST version of MALWAREBYTES is not stable enough due to more problem just like system slowdown and CPU hogging and this is the first blue screen of death that I’ve been received so far which is caused by MB program ! so , not sure what is farflt.sys.sys refers to (maybe this is a WINDOW file or a MB file) and this is an issue with either RANSOM-protection in MALWAREBYTES or with my virus-protection ? anyway , been trying to use my FIREFOX web-browser but it get hang and "not responding" message and the MB software itself isn’t responding even on the startup area ! and a lot of the same blue screen of the death when I’m right-clicking on any program’s icon / startup program which lead to crashed my system in this way ! well, I had to wipe out my hard drive and then a format and this is a newly windows installation (newly window formatting) almost from 3 day only ! I have also to install other security software’s on this laptop such ZEMANA-anti malware and HITMANpro and superantispyware free edition and KASPERSKY cloud free (which is free-antivirus) and MALWAREBYTES trial version 3.5.1.2522-1.0.421-1.0.6407 right there! my MB setup is mb3-setup-consumer-3.5.1.2522-1.0.421-1.0.6407 and the first blue screen of the death was on Crash Dump Analysis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crash dumps are enabled on your computer. 5. Hello all, I am trialing a VPN solution for my workplace. We are using the in built CISCO Meraki VPN Client Server to setup and maintain the VPN. The main goal of the VPN is to allow sales and technical staff access to network mapped resources back at HQ, and to allow the technicians to remotely enter customers sites. We setup all sites so that only our HQ IP address can access them remotely for security purposes. One of the key requirements of this VPN is to have FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) resolve correctly both onsite and offsite of HQ. Onto the issue at hand. On clients not running Malwarebytes, I can successfully connect to the VPN, ping network resources by both their IP and FQDN, and map network drives. On my test laptop running Windows 10 and Malwarebytes 3, I cannot ping FQDN and as a result cannot map network drives. I can ping network resources via their IP, however this is not ideal due to possible IP changes in the near future then requiring that all client PC's have their network mappings updated. After some troubleshooting I was able to narrow the issue down to Malwarebytes by first disabling it and been able to successfully ping FQDN, and then further narrowed down to Web Protection by following the same process. I have tried adding an exclusion for the external IP of the VPN server but this has not helped. Details of the type of VPN used are below: VPN Server: Cisco Meraki Firewall Type: IPsec2 / Pre-shared Key VPN Server using onsite nameserver as DNS. We are currently investigating antivirus solutions to role out to our whole team and unfortunately this is painting a black spot on Malwarebytes as been the choosen solution. I have used Malwarebytes for years and hold it in high regard, hopefully this can be resolved with the communities help Thanks, Lord_LolzWorth
  6. Because the web protection feature could not be successfully turned back on and because I determined that there occurred a problem during the month of January with the Malwarebytes 3 application, I uninstalled the application with the intent of reinstalling it. I have the license ID and key, but now I need instruction with reinstalling the application. Please provide the information or a link to it, and thanks.
  7. My computer crashed yesterday and after a reboot loop and looking at the srt file, I was able to determine the issue was with mbamswissarmy.sys file. The error message stated that the file was corrupt. I renamed the file and then windows was able to boot up. Malwarebytes indicated there was an error and asked me to reboot. I did and after the reboot, Malwarebytes indicated that it is running properly. The mbamswissarmy.sys file is still renamed. Is Malwarebytes working properly? I have a licensed version. My concern is that MalwareBytes states it is working properly but it is not using the mbamswissarmy.sys file? Any suggestions.

  9. I'm having a problem when I try to install the latest updated version of Malwarebytes 3. Every time I try to install it -- even in Safe Mode -- it triggers a BSOD crash (Kernel Security Check Failure). I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet, with Windows 10 Professional 64-bit. Google query: Malwarebytes KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE Conclusion 2 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers: mbamswissarmy.sys (Malwarebytes SwissArmy, Malwarebytes) If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination with the errors that have been reported for these drivers. Include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions on the web by users who have been experiencing similar problems. Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information. Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further. * * * Based on the above information, any solution to this problem will be greatly appreciated.
  10. I just installed Malwarebytes 3 with the updated package version 1.0.3816 and it completes a scan of 350,000 files or so in under 90 seconds, is this working properly? Thanks in advance to whom contributes.
  11. Hi there, I'm having an issue where exploit protection fails to turn on. I did a clean uninstall/reinstall with mb-clean (log attached) but this problem has persisted throughout that and several restarts. I recall something like this happened subscriber-base-wide last January-ish but today it seems like just me. I am running on update package version 1.0.3.808, and everything seems up to date as far as I can tell. mb-check-results.zip mb-clean-results.txt
  12. When i start my computer the mbam aplication don't start, i have to manually start the tray aplication in order to start mbam
  13. It's November 2017 and I just started having the problem Grenpara had in February. I cannot keep real time web protection ON. I follow the FAQ instructions: turn off enable self protection and restart. I'm good till the next morning; then process repeats. Today MB turned off ransomware protection. I have been waiting for 3 days for a reply from customer service. I tried to live chat but they only help with installation. Why am I paying for MB when it keeps turning itself off and I cannot get help from the company?
  14. I currently have the original Malwarebytes Anti-Malware tool for Mac installed on my macbook and want ti upgrade to the new Malwarebytes 3 for mac. The only issue is how should i approach the installation. When i open the MBAM app and upgrade through there, should i wait for Malwarebytes 3 to fully install before uninstalling the older MBAM app? Or can i still use both MBAM and the new Malwarebytes 3 with no interference, or is that a bit over the top? Is MBAM still receiving the same signature updates as Malwarebytes 3 or is it best to upgrade?
  15. As soon as windows is on and chrome gets started, mb 3.2.2 shows a dialog box saying coin-hibe.com restricted. After closing the dialog box, it again appears in a sec. It keeps on appearing again and again until the mb 3.2.2 is completely closed by using task manager. After I restart it, then it seems to work fine.
  16. Well, MBAM cannot replace all other security programs, no one can. I like to try BitDefender Internet Security 2017 on my W10 Pro x64 with MBAM 3. Does anyone have any own experience on how the co-operation will succeed? AFAIK BitDefender does not like others (what a rasists ;))
  17. I'll start by noting that this issue does not exist on one machine, but several machines which are all on the same domain. However, not every machine on the domain has this issue. The machines all use either Windows 7 or Windows 10. Malwarebytes does not freeze. What happens is at some point during any point after scanning "startup items" the scan will suddenly appear stuck as the "number of objects scanned" will stop increasing. The scan timer will keep ticking the entire time, but no progress is being made. I can pause the scan, and when I resume the scan there is no change in progress. The graphic with the spinning green arrows keeps going as normal even with no progress being made. I can let the scan keep going all night, and when I come back the next day the scan will still be stuck at the same spot as before. Upon finally hitting cancel, the scan acts like something is happening, but nothing ever happens. I am forced to go into task manager and end process on "malwarebytes service" in order to perform another scan. I am able to navigate through all of the other various menus within the program during a scan, etc. The scan is never stuck on the same file, file type, etc. Sometimes it will sit on "Scanning startup items" or "scanning file system" or during "registry items" or even during "heuristics analysis", but the number of objects scanned does not increase. The only way Malwarebytes can complete a scan is by going to the custom scan menu, choosing the custom scan option, and unchecking "Scan Startup and Registry settings." I can deselect all other options other than startup and registry settings, and the scan will become stuck during "heuristics analysis". So far I am still able to complete a threat scan on three different machines out of many that cannot. All machines can complete a scan by unchecking startup and registry settings from the scan. One of these three machines is running Windows 7, while the other two are running Windows 10. Windows and all other programs are up to date. I've tried excluding as well as completely uninstalling and purging the antivirus since that is the only program other than Windows/Microsoft office/adobe reader that is consistent between all machines (removing any or all of these programs does not change the outcome either), but that did not change the outcome of the scan. The antivirus has since been reinstalled. I'm running out of ideas. Any ideas and help is appreciated. I have tried using 3.2 beta version as well, and there is no change in the outcome of the scan. mb-check-results.zip
  18. Had a search for this in the forums to see if anyone else had had this problem, but couldn't see that anyone has reported it before. Basically I keep having to set my scheduled scan, because after a couple of days, usually 2-3, my settings keep getting wiped. I like to have a scheduled scan everyday at 7:00 PM, with the option for a missed scan to take place up to 23 hours afterward. However, after 2-3 days, it keeps resetting to a scan at 2:30 AM, without the option for a scan to take place if that is missed. As my PC is usually turned off/asleep at that time in the morning, and it isn't scanning if it's missed, i'm essentially losing the ability to run scheduled scan every couple of days. This is incredibly irritating, and have never experienced this with a paid for PC security product, so any help would be appreciated. I'm running Malwarebytes 3 Premium on a Windows 10 64-bit PC.
  19. I currently live in China and recently noticed that 'Malware Protection' in the Malwarebytes 3 is now disabled. It is impossible to turn it back on. I would be interested to know if other users in China have this problem and what they did to solve it. Thanks!
  20. I have tried to upgrade to version 3xx of Malwarebytes from 2xx. Each time the program never finishes a scan. It is locked at scanning startup files requiring me to uninstall using the clean tool then reverting to the previous version which runs flawlessly. I tried unchecking scanning for rootkits and within archives to no avail. Please advise . Thanks. MBAMSERVICE.LOG mb-clean-results.txt
  21. Hello... I'm a premium user here and need some help. First off, I have NO SIGNS of infection whatsoever (I guess we'll see ). My computer runs wonderfully.. My ONLY problem is that I am unable to upgrade (and now I cannot even install) MBAM 3.x. I had been running version 3 already and started having a problem only after I was prompted to install your most recent update. The setup launched and as soon as I clicked "OK" to the default of ENGLISH I get this error (attached). I was persistent to get your latest version installed so I started troubleshooting. I saw the other post about checking for "Malwarebytes" in the UNTRUSTED certificates for this same "Could not call proc" error but it was not found there. I manually downloaded your latest version (mb3-setup-consumer-3.1.2.1733-1.0.141-1.0.2092.exe) and still same error. I ended up downloading your latest MBAM cleaner (mb-clean-3.1.0.1008.exe) to remove v3 because I noticed I got the SAME ERROR when I tried to UNINSTALL v3 I thought this was important to highlight for you. So... I went back to an older MBAM 2 and it installed just fine. I updated it, ran a full scan, nothing found. I'm stumped as to why v3 is no longer cooperating. The only thing I have recently changed was installing a new router. Thank you in advance! CheckResults.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
