  1. Hi there and welcome to Malwarbytes. Yes delete the virus vault. Symantec doesn't have this feature so are you using it and Avast? Don't use two active AV programs together. Please follow these instructions here and begin your own topic in that forum
  2. This request is getting more and more popular it really should be listed on the DL page for MBAM or hosted here.
  3. WinPatrol is too real time. It has real time options for IE changes and for the Hosts file. Screen shot attached. @ maiki Both are good, but TeaTimer is a bit harder for someone who might not know what is good and what is bad to allow to run. WinPatrol gives the option to look up the stuff Scotty barks at in the data base and see what it is. WinPatrol is designed to do only this. TeaTimer is part of a great removal program and a secondary part of that program, it can interfere with other good tools too often if the user doesn't know what to allow. In the HJT forum we ask it is turned off during the removal process for this reason. IMO you can't beat Scotty for the job, Iv'e been saved from drive by Trojans by Scotty when nothing else had a clue.
  4. Hi pdexie and welcome to Malwarebytes. 1262 is correct for the current version. The prior version was 1261.
  5. Hi, we currently don't have a trial of the service. There has been discussion of this for the future. As gerardwil said it is a onetime fee to buy for life. MBAM is very low on resource usage and that is one thing that will not ever be compromised.
  6. I don't suppose you can create a new admin account? Can you get to another PC download MBAM to a CD or floppy and install it? Do you have the install disks? It's looking like reformat time to me if none of those other things work. If you can access a working PC we might be able to get some tools on it that will at least give us a look at what you have and maybe even remove it. Try updating Spysweeper and scanning again too.
  7. So how is it running now? MBAM took out a bunch of junk.
  8. OK great work. Please update MBAM, scan and be sure you take action for all things found. Post that log and a new HJT log.
  9. OK I didn't understand you either, now I do. Let's give this tool a try, it runs very fast and should show us something. Review this article here how to use ComboFix Be sure you cover the section on How to install and use the Windows XP Recovery Console and make sure it is installed on your machine. This is important should anything go wrong and we need to recover your PC and not lose all the data. 1. Download this file : http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe save it to your desktop. 2. Double click combofix.exe. It will be a red icon with a white X on your desktop. Follow the prompts you will get a blue cmd prompt screen and a choice to choose Y or N. Choose Y and hit enter. 3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. This logfile is located at C:\ComboFix.txt. Post that log and a HiJack log in your next reply Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall.
  10. http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 Please follow the instructions there if you have a malware problem. Post the logs in this thread in the body of the reply.
  11. Tigger is right this is fixed in the update.
  12. OMG, Spyware Terminator is just this side of rogue. Save yourself and dump it.
  13. She has illegal software on the system. This is her 3rd time here posting with the same problem. I told her once to show me un-tampered logs with no key gens and we can help her. Her Panda scan clearly showed 4 programs with keygens, and that is why she is infected. Plus look at the version of the DB Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.28 Database version: 1134 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
  14. Can you do a System Restore from Safe Mode? Have you tried to install MBAM? Install it update and run a quick scan.
  15. OMG PMSL We may have to use this as a promo line. LOL Symantec actually uses MBAM on it's own help forums, because they don't remove stuff.
  16. @ ocky great one mystery solved! @ gabian, can this also be your problem?
  17. I pasted what you sent and got an invalid message. Nothing on the page but that word "invalid" .
  18. So it's MBAM freezing not the OS? Open MBAM and in the settings section uncheck scan memory, try running again. Continue unchecking items if that doesn't work. Be sure your only running a quick scan, not the full.
  19. Well you got help here, so I don't know what your bitch is. No one gets palmed off here, you don't seem to get what was really being said. MBAM has made helping people so easy, the biggest challenge is those who will not follow directions. They are out there and plenty.
  20. I love JibJab. Posted that link on my site too.
