  1. You can view extensions by going to Tools on the tool bar and looking in Add-Ons. You might try doing an reinstall of Firefox. Files could have become corrupted.
  2. Have you closed and reopened FF? What extensions are you running? It could be a conflict there. You can also post a HighJack This! log in that section of the site and I will have a look at it for you.
  3. Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes. In addition to what njustice has said you should be able to create a new administrator account by going to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts>Create New Account. What antispyware program are you using and why can't you remove it? Is it because your not an administrator?

  5. Hi are you sure that the program hadn't just updated? If you have it set to auto check for updates at startup and it does update then it would show you need to immunize. I just checked my program and I can't duplicate this.
  6. I get email notifications of all threads at CC concerning CD and have just had quite the pissing contest with Allusive Allan in the Digg thread....love that name. I wish more people would actually Digg the article....only 7.
  7. I would like to request a forum for general items of interest to the community. News and issues of interest to the general PC user. Not everything falls under rogues, malware or security risks. Please.
  8. http://digg.com/security/Malwarebytes_Secu...nches_Rogue_Net Digg to death!
  9. Wow how cool. We need to Digg it! I will Digg it and Stumble it.
  10. Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes. Rogue Remover Pro gets along well with everything and does not preform the same protections as CounterSpy or SiteHound. It will remove any installed rogue plus immunize your system by blocking sites that are known to download/host rogues. That feature is what I use it for because I don't install rogues but rogue sites often carry malicious code along with the rogue software so I immunize against going there. Hope that answered your question and if not let us know.
  11. I'm going to say yes they will continue with the F/P, plus they may not find what might really be on your system. Combine this with what other damage they may do and you have a most undesirable situation. There is no reason to pay money for that!!
  12. Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes. The simplest way to define a rogue is they are programs that claim to do things they really don't and usually want money for it. Some will actually harm your PC while claiming to help. Keep asking questions and reading you will learn.
  13. Google search using key words "file recovery freeware" without quotatiion marks, brings up over 2 millions hits. The first three pages were all "green" sites according to finjan secure browsing plugin. You have nothing to lose. One was for music and video specifically.
  14. First spammer to post, but a peek in the memberlist and sites of some members and you will see more spammers.
  15. Hi I need to see another HJT log please. Also did you check your Add/Remove programs to see if it is there?
  16. Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes. Print out these instructions as we will need to close every window that is open later in the fix. Download SmitfraudFix.exe from here and save it to your desktop: By S!ri Confirm that the file SmitfraudFix.exe now resides on your desktop, but do not double-click on the icon as of yet. We will use it in later steps. Next, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following: 1. Restart your computer 2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8. 3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear 4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode. 5. When you are at the logon prompt, log in as the same user that you had performed the previous steps as. When your computer has started in safe mode, and you see the desktop, close all open Windows. 6. Now, double-click on the SmitFraudfix icon that should be residing on your desktop. 7. When the tool first starts you will see a credits screen. Simply press any key on your keyboard to get to the next screen. You will now see a menu. Press the number 2 on your keyboard and the press the enter key to choose the option Clean (safe mode recommended). The program will start cleaning your computer and go through a series of cleanup processes. When it is done, it will automatically start the Disk Cleanup program. 8. This program will remove all Temp, Temporary Internet Files, and other files that may be leftover files from this infection. This process can take up to a few hours depending on your computer, so please be patient. When it is complete, it will close automatically and you will should continue with step 11. 9. When Disk Cleanup is finished, you will be presented with an option asking Do you want to clean the registry ? (y/n). At this screen you should press the Y button on your keyboard and then press the enter key. 10. When this last routine is finished, you will be presented with a red screen stating Computer will reboot now. Close all applications. You should now press the spacebar on your computer. A counter will appear stating that the computer will reboot in 15 seconds. Do not cancel this countdown and allow your computer to reboot. 11. Once the computer has rebooted, you will be presented with a Notepad screen containing a log of all the files removed from your computer. Examine this log, and when you are done, close the Notepad screen. Your computer should now be free of the SpyLocked and SpywareLocked infections. Please post a new HJT log and we will see what is left to clean up.
