Switching from free to paid version

Recommended Posts

Hi Nikilet -

There is not actually a "trial version" - The free and paid versions use the same basic engine - Just enter your new Key and ID under Register -

Next : Please read and follow ->How to Set up and Use the Scheduler<- - This gives you the diagrams for your new setup -

Please post back once installed with any questions -

Thank You -

You do not need to uninstall the free version to begin using the paid version, you will simply register the free version with the ID and Key that you you will receive when you purchase Malwarebytes. (The free and the paid version are the same download).

What AV are you running?

:D

Ok then -

Finish the transaction with the purchase of Malwarebytes and we are always here if you need backup support -

You have not listed your Operating system yet (XP VistaWin7) - Select from the list below Only if you need to add exclusions to Avast -

Many members here find this is not required but I have included a list if you need them - Now Register your MBAM Key and ID -

Then keep your email trom Cleverbridge in a safe place if you need to re register later - It is a Lifetime License (do not lose the numbers -

Please exclude the following files from your antivirus:

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well

For Windows XP:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For Windows Vista or Windows 7:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
  • C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
  • C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well

Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site:

data-cdn.mbamupdates.com

Greetings... I'm a 1st timer here. Just wondering (before I pay for Malwarebytes) if there are any known problems when used with Trend Micro Titanium?? I've been using the "free" Malwarebytes successfully with no problems and am considering the paid version. Windows XP Sp3. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :D

Hi -

One of our members here (yardbird) uses Trend Titanium on his XP SP3 without any problems - He used the early versions of Trend also -

If you ever had a problem with the 2 items , then he can solve it very quickly - He added the exclusions below to his Trend and they work 100%

For TM Titanium here are all the files in exception:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ignore.dat

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

C:\Program FIles\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

C:\Program FIles\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

C:\Program FIles\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbam.sys

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Thank You -

EDIT -

It only takes a few mins to add these and off you go -

I thank you very much for all the work you put into your answer for me. However, I'm afraid I need more help yet. I have Vista Home Premium; do I need to add all the items you have listed in that section? And where, in Avast, do I add these items?

Also, you mentioned adding that MBAM.exe to the firewall exclusion and again, if I need to add it, where do I add it?

And, do I have to add any Avast items to Malwarebytes?
