I previously had XP Home SP2 and tried to upgrade to get SP3.

Then it asked me to reboot. After that I got Black Screen and " dnsapi.dll / lsass.exe - bad image "message.

So, I googled and found the fastest way is Roll Back or Reinstall SP2. I did it successful

Now, IE back to IE6. That's why I tried to get back IE8 and no result. All I can get "the requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context "

Now, I can't reach MS update.

I'm sure, PC is clean. No viruses or malware. Thats the history

thank for advance help

Hmm that's more than I am able to help with, I'm sure someone else will have an idea though :)

What are you running on currently? (That will help out whoever is able to help you).

It was caused because you had IE6 reinstalled with SP2 with IE8 engine running in the background including the tabs that IE6 did not understand.

You could have Uninstalled it via Add/Remove Programs, click Show Updates and select Windows Internet Explorer 8.0.

The when you reinstall it, make sure you reboot immediately after you install.

But its fixed now so no big deal.
