Can't scan file on NAS / Network Storage

Gentlemen, am I the only one who can't scan individual files on a Network Storage Device ?

I am using the recent Malwarebytes Pro Version. When I want to scan a .rar file on local drives I see "Scan with Malwarebytes" in the right-click Windows context menu. But When I do the same on a Network Storage drive this option is greyed out. I also can't scan the whole NAS drive, it's also greyed out. But according to the information I found it should be possible but on the other hand I also find articles where it's apparently not possible. I'm confused. I am Windows 10 Pro User.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can not scan network connected devices.

You would need to connect the drive using iSCSI so that the system would see it as a local drive and allow scanning.

It is slower than a normal local drive scan but it will scan

So any anti virus program can do it and the "smart" Malwarebytes alternative can't ? Ooof... 

Damn I just extended my subscription for another computer. This is important to me. But anyway thanks for the info.
