Cheat Engine as Malware

Hello!

I download Cheat Engine from official site and it gets reported as Malware

It's not the first time I installed after a MalwareBytes check, and I never saw Generic.Malware.AI.DDS and Malware.AI.317114055

That's from the log file:

What does that mean?

please zip and attach the detected file here. Those are generic malware detections so could be a false positive.

Thank you for the file. The Malware.AI is a generic detection that we will remove. But, the installer is a software bundler so we will rename it to PUP.Optional.BundleInstaller.

What is a software bundler?

It bundles optional adware with the installer.

So since I choose to not install adware, is it safe to install cheat engine?

Safe, yes

But note if you have Valorant, or League of Legends after March 2024, Riot Games's Vanguard anti-cheat, that work since boot your PC, will no let you play these 2 games if detect Cheat Engine
