It really depends on many factors. It's not the image itself that is the issue, it is the code the website might be running and if they're trying to auto install something or take advantage of an exploit.

In most cases, yes with the use of uBlock Origin and Malwarebytes Browser Guard they will block the vast majority of known undesirable scripts, Ads, or other content.

Using Malwarebytes paid premium version will also greatly reduce the risk of visiting sites. Using another browser such as Firefox or Brave would also help.
