Program Conflicts W/ Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

Some AV programs and Firewalls have to accept some Malwarebytes files. But no major conflicks. Heres an example:

So you would need to add some files to the Trust area of the product you have. Which if you have an issue, just post it here. Someone will be here to fix any problems. Here's a list of some files to be trusted by your AV/Firewall as an example lets use xp:

For Windows XP:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

Post back with any questions.. regards,,,

Hello,

I use online armor (free version, with the same detection wizard), and Opera and have no problems related to MBAM.

Pssibly firewall and HIPS rules in program settings or the program guardian (the built-in HIPS), maybe try to remove rules associated to MBAM in OAP first.

I have OA Premium installed and, once you have set everything concerning MBAM to "allow" and "trust" there are no problems whatsoever in running both programs together.

I haven't encountered any problems with different browsers (IE8, Firefox 3.5.3 and Opera 10) either.

Hope this has been of help.

You can try this to make sure you have a good clean install....

please try a clean tool below, remove the program and re-install again

1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.

2. Restart your computer (very important).

3. Download and run this utility. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe

4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).

5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and run a Quick Scan.

You also may want to consider the same for the browser? but 1 step at a time.

After you do the un-install & run the clean tool, & reinstall... please give it a try with the About tab and report back to us! thanks ..regards...
