R3Kistic Posted May 31, 2021 ID:1460586 Share Posted May 31, 2021 So ive been using iobit software for a while now, around 2 months. Just to make sure the program was safe i scanned it with malwarebytes 4.4.0.117 and it detected nothing, in the past it actually detected iobit as PUP or malware. So i searched up is iobit safe, then i saw a reddit post saying how it was fake and all, heres the reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/369myy/iobit_it_really_is_a_scam_right/ All i am asking is, is iobit safe and trusted, and does it actually work as how its advertised to work? Like SystemCare or their other programs, the reddit post also said that systemcare detects thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of "junk files you need to remove", but when i actually use legit software like ccleaner and system mechanic, it only detects under 10k issues. just tryna keep my laptop safe lol

brad03 Posted May 31, 2021 ID:1460634 Share Posted May 31, 2021 Windows registry cleaners are usually not recommended as they do more harm then good. Windows offers these tools such as windows defrag, disk cleanup, and if your using windows 10 you have storage sense which detects junks files. How all these registry companies are still in business in beyond me lol.
1PW Posted May 31, 2021 ID:1460707 Share Posted May 31, 2021 Hello @R3Kistic: A few of us still remember that IObit was unquestionably proven to be using Malwarebytes' intellectual Property and database data. Is that (then China based) particular company trustworthy now? In my own private and personal opinion, SERIOUSLY AND ABSOLUTELY NO! clch Posted April 6 ID:1628280 Share Posted April 6 I had an tried to login to my iobit account and my webroot secureanywhere told me the website was unsafe. So I called in for help and the iobit guy would not guide me through what to do. He said he had to take control of my computer remotely and go through a complex technical process. Red flags went up and I told him I wanted a refund. He started yelling at me and then hung up on me. I immediately uninstalled the iobit uninstaller using the Microsoft uninstaller. It said there were items it could not uninstall so I hope there is no spyware left over. Iobit is a terrible company.
Solution David H. Lipman Posted April 6 Solution ID:1628290 Share Posted April 6 IOBit is not legit. Companies that steal Intellectual Property can not be trusted.
