Mandatory ASLR prevents AdwCleaner from running in Windows 8.1 and 10

Here’s a solution that works on Windows 10 but it’s not ideal and should be considered a stopgap until the developer fixes the issue.

In PC Settings->Update & Security->Windows Security->App & browser control->Exploit Protection->Systems settings where ASLR is set system wide,  there is also an option to change settings for individual programs.

The “Program Settings” tab is located next to the “System Settings” tab. Selecting  “Program Settings” will show any programs that already have “overrides” and allow you to add Adwcleaner.exe. Once added, select edit and check Mandatory ASLR (override “System Settings”) move the slider to the off position and Adwcleaner.exe will now launch normally.

You can verify that it only works for the specific filename (Adwcleaner.exe) or file location that you added by creating a copy of Adwcleaner.exe in the same directory with a different filename. It will not run as the System Settings apply. Hopefully, the developer will correct this in a future update.

AdwCleaner 8.0.9.1 now runs with mandatory ASLR enabled on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.  Thank you for all the hard work done to fix this propblem.
