Cant turn on features

Recommended Posts

I am running Win 10.18323.19rh1 on a ROG STRIX Z390-E, i7 8700K, 16 gig Ballistix elite, WD 500 g NVME drive 2.5 tb of HD.

It started with a recent update in WIN 10, I normally have to re-insert my License Key, but this time I noticed that  "WEb Protection", "Malware Protection", & "RansomWare Protection" were turned off and I can not turn them on. My license key is active and the expiration date is as expected. I was offered a new activation Key when I D/L the new Ver 3 but it looks like everything else is active. AM I REQUIRED to use the new activation key to turn on these features? Also can not turn on "Self Protection Module",  AND THERE IS NOT and 'ACTIVATE License' button on the app window.

Hello @esar and :welcome:

This occurs when installing or updating to Windows 10 Insiders Preview Build 18323 19H1.  If it is possible for that system to be rolled back to build 18317 19H1, then that system's Malwarebytes for Windows should return to normal operation.

Malwarebytes management is fully aware of the issue.  Other topics in this sub-forum have also raised the same issue.  No workaround is currently available from Microsoft or Malwarebytes yet other than going to Windows 10 build 18317.

I have same issue. Cmon malwarebytes you need stay caught up on your windows update builds. you have left alot of your customers without protection and rolling back is not an option for many of us. Time to wake up your engineers and get them crunching code to fix this issue.

Unfortunately Malwarebytes doesn't officially support any beta/preview operating systems, and since build 18323 is an Insider Preview build, they haven't coded or tested for compatibility with it.  That said, if the issue is on Malwarebytes' end then it should be corrected by the time build 18323 is released to the general public as a non-test build/update.
