First off I was never notified that you had replied to my post.

I followed all of the instructions in the link sent.

I have Malwarebytes 3.3.1 which is the latest update but I went  and downloaded it again even though thr link was only to the FREE download and not the PREMIUM I have.

I ran the scan which took 15 plus minutes and came up with several problems which needed a reboot to remove. Then I ran it again  for another 15 minutes and it came up with the 4 PUPS it originally had which meant quarantining them and going to plan "B" unlinkink chrome etc, anothe scan same outcome, Plan C manual removal of parts of Chrome listed and Rescan, with SAME RESULTS which means NOTHING has changed after over an hour of scans and fixes to Chrome that haven't worked. My question is WHAT ARE THOSE PUPS  I sent in and keep getting?? and what effect are they having on my Laptop?

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) - Scan mode
Follow the instructions below to download and execute a scan on your system with FRST, and provide the logs in your next reply.

• Download the right version of FRST for your system:
  
  • FRST 32-bit
  • FRST 64-bit
    Note: Only the right version will run on your system, the other will throw an error message. So if you don't know what your system's version is, simply download both of them, and the one that works is the one you should be using.
    
• Move the executable (FRST.exe or FRST64.exe) on your Desktop
• Right-click on the executable and select Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users)
• Accept the disclaimer by clicking on Yes, and FRST will then do a back-up of your Registry which should take a few seconds
• Make sure the Addition.txt box is checked
• Click on the Scan button
  
• On completion, two message box will open, saying that the results were saved to FRST.txt and Addition.txt, then open two Notepad files
• Copy and paste the content of both FRST.txt and Addition.txt in your next reply

Seems like I had to do this same thing when the 3.3 FIRST CAME out and I did notice there was an update about 2 weeks ago which was when this problem started

Alright, I see what the problem is.

Close Google Chrome, and go in the following folder:

C:\USERS\TMIK\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA

From there, do this:

• Rename the Profile 1 folder to Profile 1_OLD
• Rename the Profile 3 folder to Profile 3_OLD

Once done, open Google Chrome, and tell me if all your settings are still there: extensions, bookmarks, passwords, etc.

Done and everything in Google seems to be where it was or should be. Now then will this get rid of those PUPs I keep getting in scans ?

If you delete the Profile 1_OLD and Profile 3_OLD folders, and run a new scan with Malwarebytes, the detections shouldn't show up anymore.

Deleted those 2 files as instructed and ran another new Full Scan and NOTHING SHOWED UP !!! Finally resolved, THANK YOU and you can close this out and hopefully I won't have the same problem again when you have another full update.
