Japan's NHK begins world's first 8K TV broadcasts

Japan's public broadcaster NHK has begun the world's first regular TV satellite broadcasts in 8K resolution. The "Super Hi-Vision" test channel launched on Monday and has a mix of content in both 4K and 8K resolution, which at 7680 x 4320 pixels is four times as sharp as 4K and 16 times as sharp as 1080p; the spec also allows for 22.2-channel audio.

Can't imagine trying to edit 8K video on a Computer. The 4K video format when editing in raw native mode can put a stress on even the latest high end computers. You can have 70+ Mbps in 4K mode recordings. On my 4K video camera it creates about 60MB for 8 seconds of video.

Yep.  That's me.

I'm so old, deaf, dumb and blind, none of these technological innovations will be of any benefit.  My planned obsolescence approaches at break-neck speed.

Heck, I'm about to toss out (finally) one of *2* old CRT TVs.
