Hi,

yesterday my virus program (AVG free) told me my computer had a Trojan, it removed it and off I went. I also ran Malware Bytes which found nothing. Then today I keep getting messages saying that AVG has blocked various viruses, but it keeps happening. I'm confused if my computer is now clean or if something is lurking and that's why I keep picking things up. I'd really appreciate some help, I've run Farbar and I've attached the logs, thanks.

Logs are indicating bad block which if reported to the OS could potentially mean the hard drive is in a possible pending failure stage. Highly suggest you back up your data and then do a full disk check

Error: (02/11/2016 03:04:11 PM) (Source: disk) (EventID: 7) (User: )

Description: The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block.

It also shows that Windows Search appears to possibly be broken which can affect many aspects of using the computer well. That too should be checked and fixed.

After a full disk check keep an eye out for ongoing disk errors and if it continues you'll need to replace the drive.

Did you run CHKDSK C: /R from elevated command prompt and get all clear no issues? Maybe is worthwhile run a check on the HD, see if it will pass a fitness test. Instructions at following link:

http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/internal-hard-drives/consumer-electronics/ld25-series/seatools-dos-master/

If you are sure all is good continue with the following to remove tools etc that we`ve used....

Run the following to clean up:

Download "Delfix by Xplode" and save it to your desktop.

Or use the following if first link is down:

"Delfix link mirror"

If your security program alerts to Delfix either, accept the alert or turn your security off.

Double Click to start the program. If you are using Vista or higher, please right-click and choose run as administrator

Make Sure the following items are checked:

  •
  • Remove disinfection tools

  • Purge System Restore <--- this will remove all previous and possibly exploited restore points, a new point relative to system status at present will be created.

  • Reset system settings

Now click on "Run" and wait patiently until the tool has completed.

The tool will create a log when it has completed. We don't need you to post this.

Any remnant files/logs from tools we have used can be deleted…

Next,

Read the following links to fully understand PC Security and Best Practices, you may find them useful....
