there is no option on the desktop?

My understanding is that is disabled by default because, when it is enabled, an "on-top" program update will generally require a system restart (reboot).

As many basic users do not use this context menu scanning feature, it is disabled by default in version 2.

That way, such users would be able to perform most minor program updates in place, without restarting the computer.

 

At least that's how it was explained to me some time ago.

 

Staff will correct me if I am wrong.
