pup.optional.mysearchdial.a - Keeps returning

Recommended Posts

I have run MalwareBytes and have a recurring problem with pup.optional.mysearchdial.a keeping on reappearing every time I clean it. I have also used Spybot, ADWCleaner, Junkwear Removal Tool, and HitmanPro and none of these seem to have managed to solve the problem. I saw that someone in another thread had this problem and were asked to run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and post the logs so they are attached to this post. I have also attached the scan and protection logs from MalwareBytes.

Any help in removing this issue would be greatly appreciated. Also, is it possible that this piece of malware could be making my browser lag in spots like text entry boxes and drop down menus?

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:

Limit your internet access to posting here, some infections just wait to steal typed-in passwords.
Please be patient. I know it is frustrating when your PC isn't working properly, but malware removal takes time.
Don't run any scripts or tools on your own, unsupervised usage may cause more harm than good.
Do not paste the logs in your posts, attachments make my work easier. There is a Attach Files option below which you can use to attach your reports. Always attach reports from all tools.
Stay with me to the end, the absence of symptoms doesn't mean that your machine is fully operational.
Note that we may live in totally different time zones, what may cause some delays between answers.
Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

icon_idea.gif I can't foresee everything, so if anything unexpected happens, please stop and inform me!
icon_idea.gif There are no silly questions. Never be afraid to ask if in doubt!

Thanks for reopening, but I since seem to have solved the problem. The item of malware reappeared after I thought it had gone. After doing a bit more searching on it, I found that it had altered some of my Chrome settings. It had inserted mysearchdial as a search engine, one of the homepage tabs, and a few other things. I deleted every instance of mysearchdial in my settings, ran MalwareBytes again and removed the problem, and since then it has gone away and doesn't seem to have reappeared. I'm fairly confident this time because previously it was coming back within an hour, but it's been over 24 hours and no reoccurance.
