MBAMScheduler timeout...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Why my system log is tracing the following error ?

"Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a response from MBAMScheduler service transaction."

That's with my WinXP Pro 32 Sp3 PC (I didn't check yet with my Win7)...

Regards,

Hello and welcome back, HiSpeed:

We would probably need a bit more information in order to better assist you -- for example, we don't know what version of MBAM you are running.

I would suggest starting with some basic troubleshooting for one computer at a time (so that we don't get confused ;) ):

Thank You,

Hi:

Thank you for the update.

It sounds as if it may relate somehow to the system's power management/sleep/hibernation settings.

If you would like help with this, it might assist the staff to get a bit of system information.
To do that, please read the following and post back attached to your next reply the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs

Thanks,

Unfortunately if you're having issues due to wake from hibernation there simply may not be any fix as we do not control hibernation. I know my own wife uses hibernation all the time and rarely restarts her laptop and probably about once a week I have to force her to physically power it off and then start it up as applications stop working correctly. As best as possible I would recommend not having any MBAM scheduled tasks trying to run at a point where the computer might normally be woken up.

We can certainly review your logs and see if we can find an obvious issue but hibernation issues bring back almost 2 million hits on a Google search as it affects all applications, hardware, etc.
